I do not remember the last field goal Cincinnati made, probably because it occurred maybe 20 minutes ago in real time...

Yeah, I never expected them to be this bad from outside.

I'll be happy when we have guys who can make 3's again.

we scored 19 pts in the 2nd half. Remembers when we had guys that could hit jumpers. Don't know what happened with this team's offense. Nobody can hit jumpers or layups anymore.

IMO, the bigger issue is they take some of the dumbest shots imaginable. It's frustrating, because when you're a average offensive team, you shouldn't be making things more difficult for yourself.

At what point can we stop talking about Cash's pre/post injury comparisons and start talking about why he's not performing, period. If he's playing 30+ minutes a game like he has, then you can't blame any injury.

as long as our coaches philosophy is to recruit athletic players instead of basketball players, it won't get better. Most schools going that route now and basketball skills are thrown out the window today.

Dear Mick,

Please don't rip the fans and attendence when you field a team that is boring to watch, can't hit *)$^ from the field and loses MULTIPLE times at home. i recall a time when we just didn't lose at the Shoe...and don't give me that horse(#%$ bout the big east is tougher blah blah blah...no reason we should lose at home to St. Johns, ND, Pitt, or New Mexico...we arent' playing Duke and Michigan here. We have lost to good teams, but teams you should beat at home none the less.

yeah...I'm pissed

Agreed. Huggs had the same problem.

I'd rather have shooters/scorers with high bb IQ's that you can teach defense, rather than super athletic guys you know will play D but have limited offensive skills.

It might be time to insert Guyn in the lineup and see what he can do.

this was ugly....
oh well, we had lost previous 5 times for a total of 14 points so this was the first really legitimate loss of 10 points.

Houston we have a problem.

Mic should've never employed the 2-3 since Pitt plays well against and has beaten Syracuse with their ability to score against the 2-3. Back to back 3s against UC's 2/3 was the dagger. The game was tight enough you knew who ever got out by 6-7 close to the end would win it.

Bad all around.

Brick after brick after brick, geesh, you can't balme it all on Pitt's defense, it's just a lousy shooting team.

I go to Missouri Valley games here in Springfield...I watch Creighton, Wichita State, Bradley, etc.

EVERY damn Mo Valley team has at least one or two kids who can shoot lights out...he's usually a 6 foot white guard or maybe 6-2 tops and not strong looking, not intimidating, no tatoos, etc. But the kid can shoot the ball....I watch these kids playing at these mid major schools and think..."why the hell can't Mick get ONE or TWO of them, even if it's to come off the damn bench and be "instant offense"?!?!?!?!?!?!?

You guys have to remember that a lot of high school prospects are terrific shooters at the high school level, but for whatever reason, they don't put it together in college.

Sure, there's a select number of elite shooters in each recruiting class, but it's not like they grow on trees.

that might just have to happen. Cash has done absolutely nothing since his injury and his playing through it is not helping right now. I'd shut him down for 2 or 3 games and then see what happens. Start Guyn or move Sanders in the lineup and go with SK and Parker at the point guard by committee.
Wright can't hardly make anything and earlier in the game he travelled because of his leg bothering him.

we got schooled the first time against Notre Dame by 3 of their basketball-skilled players. For some reason, coaches don't see that. I wonder if we'll ever see a Keith Gregor or Bobby Brannen kid on the court for uc. Not counting Eppensteiner haha
years ago, UC had a shot at Warsaw Indiana's Scott Skiles but Coach Ed Badger said he was too short and slow....guess what, he starred at Michigan State and played quite a few seasons in the NBA. He could dribble, pass, shoot....and was a winner. Ed's not been coaching for a long, long time.

Cincinnati shot 16/52 from the field (31%) and 4/25 from the three (16%) including missing the last 14 three's. That is absolutely pathetic, there is really no other ways around it.
