About the Miami-FL schedule thread...
Anyone know if this is true? If so, whose decision to drop was this?

I sure hope UC wasn't the one who dropped it.

Apparently Miami over-scheduled and they canceled it about a year ago.

Great. Even when I try to look for scant silver linings, reality comes crashing down...stuck in this awful conference.

I'm patiently awaiting the Maryland lawsuit outcome, which is supposed to happen towards the end of this month.

"Just be patient, everything will work out," has been told to me by members inside the AD's office twice in the last week. Whit, himself, told me at the Dayton event that we need just one more domino to fall. Please keep this inside the Den since these kind of comments could leak out and cause a problem to the process.

We all know that leakage, of any kind, is not a good thing.

When I look at the totality of hiring TT, the Nippert Suite plans, and these kind of comments, I truly believe that we have a commitment from another conference. It's as if a LOI has been agreed to in principle, and UC is just waiting on the next move.

I just got back last night and looked at this board. It is not total meltdown (like when BK or BH left) but there is lethargy and fear and "I-don't-give-a-shit" feelings right and left. Disappointing is too nice a word. I certainly hope that Rag's words are soon to be proven true. This forum could use some help.

Rag, thanks for the info. Did he mention which conference?

The fact that the entire rest of the gaggle (ND, UL, C-7) that are leaving, will at least be back for the 2013-4 BB/FB seasons, has lessened my stress level on the subject. I'm sure that that "one-year bridge" TV deal will be reasonable. It bought us a little time if nothing else.

No, nothing about which conference. I've only been told what I mentioned above.

A secret verbal commitment? Reminds me of the old recruiting board.

Reason tells me there is something cooking. To many things happened in the last 2 months.

But here we sit with nothing going on on the surface. Strange days.

If I were guessing the "1 more domino" would be Maryland settling on their exit fee.

Thank goodness for the strong leadership we have in the AD office.

I did mention to one of the guys in the AD office that they need to give the public a little something on the progress. Because there are many on these boards that will just make stuff up if they don't get some real details soon.

He was lamenting how tough it is to sell out both basketball and football. I told him that he has a fan base that is acting like a financial market that is unstable and lacking confidence. Consumer confidence in UC athletics is definitely on the decline these days. Tough to sell into that instability. Hopefully they will be forthcoming with some good info in the near future.
