I may be wrong but I think there might be a couple of solution to UC's issues with Clear Channel.
1. UC needs the buy time on WLW or WCKY for one or two hours a week. The show can be exclusive to anything UC related. UC sports would of course be the main topic. Call it the Bearcat hour. Get Dan Hoard to host it. When you add that extra hour along with the coaches shows and game broadcast there would be a daily UC fix for all Bearcat fans. The show sponsors would come from any current vendor who supplies services to the campus. I am sure there are many companies who have big contracts with UC.
2. In addition UC needs to take over control of all UC broadcast much like the Reds have control over content and programing. With that done UC should begin to build a regional network with media outlets in areas with in 200 miles of Cincinnati. It might take some time but it would enhance the brand to a more regional area and therefore build stronger support for all things UC. Louisville has done this with great success. All big time programs have regional media outlets. It's time to think big.

Love the ideas; I'm all for brainstorming on ways to get more content on UC. Buying time on WLW or WCKY would be difficult IMO - just because of the impending renovations to Nippert. I'd imagine any extra dollars (or sponsors for that matter) are being pushed towards investing in the Nippert renovations.

Although I guess you could argue that by increasing media exposure you might catch some new listeners which would maybe create new fans/donors.

Get ready for the outrage again tonight. According to Lance's twitter account he is going to talk about not buying stock into UC hoops the rest of the way.

I am sure he is going to say a lot of stuff people say on this board (particularly in the in-game threads). However, I already know there are going to be some unhappy people hearing Lance air out the dirty laundry and once again not showing support for UC.

If there was going to be a UC specific show, why would you want it to be secret especially to all the potential listeners here?

Isn't going to be UC specific, and also isn't a done deal yet. If it does get done I will pass it along ASAP...

As an out of towner, Jim Scott (for about 20 minutes as I get ready for work) is about the only Cincinnati media I listen to anymore. Just lost interest in the rest.

And you can get the Bee Gees on I Heart Radio now, so you can save the wear and tear on the 8 track tapes.
