KenPom Update
KenPom.com now has UAB finishing 6-10 in conference games. There are eight games left, so the Blazers would have to win four more games.

UAB is ranked at #169 after last night's victory at Tulsa. There are six teams ranked lower (>169), with Rice pulling up the rear at #310. On the flip side, USM is #37.

UAB is still projected to tie for second to last with three other teams. UAB's conference strength of schedule is ranked #1. The first half of the conference schedule was a killer.

Preston Purifoy is now 49-53 (92.5%) from the foul line.

RE: KenPom Update
Saturday's game against Marshall will feature the two most turnover-prone teams in C-USA. Marshall is #12 in turnover% and UAB is #11.

I would love it if this team was playing its best ball in the conference tournament. Polar opposite of the Davis years.

I'll be interested to see if Hasse tries to slow Memphis down next time. Larry Brown and Tim Floyd have done what very few other CUSA coaches are willing to do to neutralize Memphis. Unless you've got the athletes to match, slowing Memphis down is the best way to beat them. It surprises me to do this day Davis couldn't win any of those games.

Mike Davis was a pro in slowing it down. He went 0fer against Memphis. Mike Anderson sped things up. He had at least one win against Memphis.

This year, UAB can't slow the ball down. We have to get a shot off before we turn it over. 03-lmfao

Wrong we have to get it across half court line first which has been very hard of late

Mike Anderson also had a team full of throughbreds. They definitely matched up with Memphis athletically if I remember right, especially in '06.

Just got to get in the top 6 to get the 1st round bye. If we hold court at home then win 2 of the 4 road games that will get us to 8-8

Thought it was top 5, only UCF will not participate or is there another team?

RE: KenPom Update
I think top 5 gets first round bye. Only 11 teams so first day, 6 plays 11, 7 plays 10 and 8 vs 9. Second day top three plays winners of first days games and 4 plays 5.

Still, even with our record, we are only two games out of a first day bye.

RE: KenPom Update
Well yes its top 5, but UCF is gonna finish 3rd. So it would really be top 6 and now UAB has the tie-breaker over Tulsa.

I don't even think of UCF in the rankings since they are in eligible, so that is why top 5
