That McMahon nominated him might be a very good thing.

That's not the point. It's another UAT grad on a board full of UAT grads. It's not right, no matter how you look at it.

So instead of replacing the Woffin SS Trooper to guard the prisoners they replace him with a regular German soldier.

They're not going to nominate someone who graduated from Auburn. There are UA graduates on the board that are on UAB's side. Don't disqualify the guy until you know more about him.

It's not really a question of "support," but one of respect. I have three UAB degrees, and the Board is saying that they are less valuable than degrees from our rural sister institution.

Mr. Morissette may well be a fine man, but he is no more qualified than I am, or hundreds of other accomplished UAB graduates, who are regularly passed over for the Board. I'll go further: I am substantially more qualified for that seat than is Harris Morrissette.

This selection is a calculated insult to the hundreds of thousands of UAB and UAH graduates.

To be fair, it's unlikely he was appointed because of his degree, but because of his business.

This is not about stadiums. This is about coal. It's been about coal - slimy sweetheart deals, illegal mining, rigged bids - for over 35 years.

That's part of it. There's a long, long trail of illicit acts regarding university-owned land, and rigging bids for coal sales from it. That's what sent trustees to prison in the late 1970's.

Business as usual. The new buildings being built on UAT's campus are costing between 3 & 5 times the going rate. The new weight room being built there is $297 a square foot. And the land they are building it on is free. Good luck getting one of those contracts.

Someone is getting stroked. I can only imagine the back door deals that have the price that jacked up. One of the entities involved on that campus I have had dealings with and they are crooks so I can only imagine if they have their hands in it.

It was approved in the committee meeting yesterday, I don't see any reason it wouldn't have been approved today.

It's like rain on your wedding day,
a free ride when you're already late.
It's like good advice that you just can't take...

Maybe some of the BOT members can take that flight they've been waiting for their whole darn life.
