Not sure what is going on at ECU, we have not really taken any NQs the last several years. Also when we join the Big East we will not be able to take any by conference rule. There has been some talk that we may take a couple this year. Like I said, I am not bashing Marshall for taking advantage of this situation just calling it like I see it when it comes to this class for Marshall.

I wish ECU would have approached it in the same manner as Marshall when we were still taking them but I think the UNC System minimum entrance requirements makes it just about impossible for us to get OOS NQs admitted. Also it has been getting harder and harder to get the instate ones admitted as well. But several years ago we would take a few instate ones each year.

Rivals normally does not evaluate many of our instate recruits...Not sure why, they then just assign them 2 stars.

Anyone has an opinion and if it is not for Marshall you and your few buddies go nuts......maybe that is why all of your post are so bias (opioion.....please remove your symbol as they take up to much space and most are outdated). FYI......I am a proud three time graduate, season tickets holder (Yes I have seen all of your defects in Greenville and attended the honor program for MU plane crash), and Pirate Club member of ECU in $$$$$$......do you truly support Marshall anywhere else except on this board or T-shirt.....now go nuts again and why I label you as "Nutty.....want-a-bee transplant I -WVA" . Remember, when you start to respect others (who do not have same opinion as your opinion) they may respect you. My post was not to you or you few MU buddies but a Tulsa supporters who I gave congratulations as well as an opinion and support. I have nothing but respect for MU but I believe you or your few MU buddies show nothing but total disrespect toward ECU or any school that is not MU. Trust me as any school in Cusa (like ECU and others) would jump at chance to go to NBE and if not MU chill.....Mu may be picked in near future (opinion). I truly believe Marshall University will be the team to beat in future CUSA (opinion) football and I will be pulling for MU. Again, stop being such haters........you will feel much better in your heart and a smile on your face:)

Marshall!

Lets see what this class looks like in August...

Yes... Lets...

Honestly, some of you Marshall guys are a trip. Do you think your are actually out recruiting all these power conference teams for these 4 star and some of these upper 3 star players??? There is usually a reason kids like these sign with CUSA schools and their favorite school list goes from Fl, Fl State, ect to Marshall or even ECU for that matter.

You guys are clearly taking full advantage of the NQ deal, that is great...I wish ECU would do the same thing instead of one or two here and there...If we are going to take any we should load up on them as well.

But to act like you guys are out there picking up these type of recruits going head to head against some big time programs is just a little silly. Sure it can happen from time to time and sure a couple of these guys may be able to get it together and be eligible this season but we all know they no longer had commitable offers to their first choices because it is very questionable they will qualify.

Maybe it happens "time from time" at ECU but its not always the case here. Nobody is acting like anything you are describing. In fact several of the 4 stars were at prep schools or Hargrave, etc and were open to go anywhere. Other whether you like it or not picked Marshall and grades had nothing to do with it.

Marshall!

Lets see what this class looks like in August...

Should be just as good, could get better... 04-cheers

Yup, the same thing you guys were saying last year...Did not really work out that way. I am just calling like I see it...No doubt it is a great class but lets just be honest about how some of these great players ended up with you guys. There is no doubt Doc is a great recruiter and I am not saying your entire class is NQs, he recruited some very good players that will no doubt qualify...But there is a reason why your class is so much better than anyone in the new or old CUSA. Like I said we will see in August and if I am wrong I will admit it and offer you and Marshall an apology.

Actually you are wrong. Thanks for coming out though. For instance Last year 4* recruit Amos Leggett picked Marshall over Nebraska as his final 2 out of high school. Others that were NQs like Turene and Tindal were NQs and had to sit out and make grades and count towards the current year commits so were not getting anything over on anyone.

This year there were several higher profile players that are from FL and know plenty of players currently on the team so they felt comfortable and picked MU over other schools and grades are a non issue.

Others 4*'s like Jean-Louis who went to Fork Union could have signed with anyone or like McManus who went to Atlanta Sports Academy picked MU over SMU. Michael Johnson picked us over FSU and we've known that was a possibility for months now but kept it quiet at his request and after visiting during the UCF game he made it clear he wanted to come here and play with friends he grew up with and wanted to announce it on signing day.

Do we take NQs? Yea but they earn their spot an fits hardly like what you make it out to be.

If you have read any of my past post you can see I been a big support of USM and will be in future. I stated that USM last season of 0-12 would not happen again this season and USM would be a dark horse for championship. ECU/USM have history and should continue to play in whatever conference we are associated. USM supported ECU to Cusa (fact) and I belief ECU should support USM to NBE (opinion). I have nothing but love for USM:)

Our page is: http://www.southernmiss.com/signingday/1...gnees.html

Looks like we might've stolen one out of Ole Miss' backyard with Adam Parkerson. I've only heard rumors but I'm actually excited we signed 2 QBs.

RE: CUSA Signing Day Central
AJ Leggett was fully quilified last year. He had a 22 on his ACT. He could have gone to Florida State if he wanted that is all they require. There are a lot of Power conference schools that only require an 18-21. State law requires a 21 in the state of WV. And yes thats all The Who requires.

Leggett had a 22 but wanted to go to Miami (Miami requires a 26) and not FSU. JaJaun Seider who had a good relationship with him convinced him to come to Huntington. Leggett had already been slotted to be in the 2 deep last year. When on the 2nd to last fall practice he hurt his leg. Instad of bringing him in the 6th game of the year and basically cheating him out of a year of elgibilty, Doc done the right thing and RSed him.

The year before that Kevin Grooms was a Miami commit, and failed to meet requirements again at Miami. He missed getting a 21 by 3 questions and sat the year out.

This year we got Miami's top recruit again in Angelo Jean-Louis. AJL should be fully quilified when the spring comes. He has already scored a 23 on his ACT. And just has to pass the clearinghouse.

Do we take NQers, the answer is yes. Are most NQers dumb, no. Most of the kids that do not qulify have some type of learning disability, that has yet to be diagnosed. And thats where Marshall's HELP (Higher Education (For) Learning Problems) Program comes in. There should be no one ever fail at Marshall with our HELP program, also the HELP progrm is open to all students and not just athletes.

In the last 6 years Marshall has had 3 student athletes graduate with their Masters that started out as a NQer.

And the only reason The Who stopped taking NQers, is in the late 90s Miami, VA Tech, Syacuse and BC forced the BEs hand and had the bylaws changed that the BE could no longer accept NQers. If they keep the Bylaws of the BE it is just another reason I want no part of that conference.

Im sure we have some NQers in this class and may pick up a few more in the next few weeks. But the thing is everyone that sat out last year is slated to be eligible this year. That includes Corey Tendal, 4 star Kent Turene, Josh Brown and 3star Gary Thompson.

Rivals got lazy, half of our guys weren't rated for a long time. Then one they just slapped a 2 star rating by their names and were done.
