I underdtand that, as I believe you said you know him personally on some level. I have mixed emotions. I like BT as a person, and wish him all the best, but I believe this is the best thing for the health of ODU's mbb program.

I have good confidence that Wood Selig will make a great hire totake us into our future in C*USA.

GO MONARCHS!!!

Nor do I. But he did a solid job at ODU and has been VERY well compensated for it. BT will be fine.

Time for Wood to earn his money and retain Ross Batten and the freshmen. Maybe we should start a campaign as well

Ross and Batten aren't going anywhere. They already redshirted.

Hearing word that Jeff Jones of AU is showing MAJOR interest. Will keep people updated. (Btw, we can do better than him.)

Ross and Batten won't leave, they already redshirted and would lose a real year of eligibility. I'm concerned about Palmore, Bacote and Snowden

Don't be so sure. This is a new generation of kids. Never know whether they think it is worth it to lose a year of eligibility.

Jeff Jones worked with Wood at Virginia. I also know that Wood is a big fan of Darrin Horn, with whom he worked at WKU.

I'd rather keep BT than go with Jeff Jones.

RE: Blaine fired
So sorry to hear this for Blaine as a person. He's had a rough year. Obviously he wasn't getting the job done so professionally, the right decision.

I loved to hate ODU under his tenure and he was a coach a rival could hate. He made the rivalry fun, stressful, and heart-breaking all at the same time. Can't give a higher compliment to him in that regard. His work with your donors and endowing scholarships can't be understated. When he had the players for his system, his teams could play with anyone in the country and broke my heart more times than I care to remember.

I hope he gets his life together and lands in a good spot. Rivalry aside, he seemed like a great guy who really cared about his players. I wish him all the best, and I'm not particularly fond of him.

I also think this is a huge opportunity for ODU to make a splash. Wood is good at what he does. I get the feeling I'm not going to like it as a VCU fan, but I do hope you guys get back to being a team I have no idea if we can beat but hope like hell we can, again. That's what made this the best rivalry in the state and I think we'll see those days again, and soon at that.

Best of luck with the rebuilding process. Blaine did it before, and it will be done again. Too much support and too many resources at ODU for that not to happen.

WOW...I know this has been a terrible year and I have been as disappointed as everyone, but this was a little bit of a surprise. At least to me.
