RE: What a complete and total load of crap
They have USM out at 38, Temple in at 55, St. John's in at 59, and Arizona State in at 65.

I thought this was going to be about JP telling us how good (insert C-USA team name here) is.

Re: What a complete and total load of crap
Alabama is the same seed as us despite having 4 more losses and losing to a CUSA team that we beat at home and losing to a SEC team that we beat on the road. Sounds fair.

In addition, since it's not selection Sunday, not worth fretting about.
I agree, just shake your head and refrain from typing about any or all brackets on Feb 5th. It's a waste of time!

RE: What a complete and total load of crap
RPI isn't everything in picking these teams. Does anyone really think that USM is deserving with their resume, yet they sit at #38 RPI right now. USM has not beat a team under #106 in the RPI & lost to all 4 teams they played inside the top 75. Their resume sucks - I don't care what the RPI says. At least we have wins over Northern Iowa, UTK & Harvard that are at least halfway decent.
You also have to look at the other teams around the "bubble" teams. Everybody's resume sucks when you get down to the last 3-4 teams in. You basically have to set some criteria for what is going to separate these crappy teams. Quality wins certainly help your case.
One of the big decisions come Selection Sunday will be how much do bad losses offset good wins? With Bama's case, they have some good wins & some horrible losses; while USM has no bad losses or good wins. Hard to say who is better between those 2, but they are certainly not 22 spots apart - as the RPI would indicate.

Lately, it appears bad losses will kill you worse than no good wins. I would agree with doing it that way too. It's not always easy to determine if a team like Creighton is as good as Louisville, or as good as UAB. So counting them as a good win is very subjective. But everyone would agree that a 200+ rpi team would be a bad loss, no matter who they are.

USM's TOP home games have been against #106 Denver and #172 UAB. Teams almost never beat good teams on the road. Alabama has one decent win, and has lost to a bunch of nobodies.
If there wasn't a 22 point difference there wouldn't be a 22 point difference. I don't know why anybody would suggest otherwise.

you got that right. to me, they should get no more than 3. and if ole miss is one of them, folks now know how to beat them. shut down hot head that runs off picks up high by switching. so....if they get in they will lose right off the bat provided you d-up punk boy.

It's about the SEC so it sends this place into crisis lockdown mode

OM out of conference SOS is 271. Load up with weak OOC games then take advantage of a very weak SEC.
