Does anyone have any recommendation for a condo in June. I am looking for an affordable rental.

We've stayed Ariel Dunes, just outside of Destin a few times. We rented thru Harmony Beach vacations. My wife & kids want an annual weekly trip there & I don't mind at all ! Beautiful area, relaxing vacation. I'm ready for summer now!

I was stationed near destin for a couple years (09-2011).

I don't know about affordable (destin was a very wealthy area), but it was a beautiful out there and a great area to be.

Would highly recommend it to anyone. Eat at mcguires if you get the chance

Try Santa Rosa Beach, just outside Destin.

Awesome area.

Just bought a place there, in fact.

Southern Vacation Rentals has a lot of properties in the area and a pretty good searchable website.

I stayed in Destin last year. The problem with affordable is once you hit Memorial Day the prices double in most cases. I got a 3 BR ocean front for about $1800 in early May. The same place went to over $4K Memorial weekend and thereafter.

I go to Blue Mountain Beach (essentially Santa Rosa Beach), and prefer that over the overdeveloped Destin area. I'm not a huge fan of gulf beaches (grew up on east coast), but was very happy there.

KAjun...I'm jealous. I would love to buy a place down there.

It is $2400 for a 5 BR, 4th (top) floor condo overlooking the ocean...but we go in early May before the price doubles. Kids aren't in school yet, so I plan to take advantage of the cheaper rates, especially with private school tuition partially due around the same time.

Anywhere along 30A is great.

Now I really wish I could have afforded a home in Seaside 04-cheers

I like going to eat in Seaside...but there's something a bit plastic feeling about it. It is a little too planned and generic feeling for my tastes. I'd probably look at Grayton first, if we were looking to buy.

Agreed on Grayton. We have some friends that have just purchased a lot there, in a place called The Preserve. Backs up to a National Forest.

Grayton most likely did not have places in our price range that were close to the beach (we have small children and easy beach access a must for us).

We always stay at one of the Phoenix condos with http://www.brett-robinson.com/

The Orange Beach side is little more laid back than the Gulf Shores side.
