...but EVERYONE knows they are leaving at some point...SOON...is why I still am scratching my head with the lower tier movement...but hey, we got you guys and the others...I like our spot long term

we may be the first to turn the sexy nBE down. it just doesn't make sense for us. $10MM to continue to play ECU and UCF?

please.

I am perfectly happy with LaTech and UTSA

At some point, the lower tier defection has to stop and all these boys need to band together to figure out a best method to combat what the 4/16 and ESPN are trying to do. It's a waste of time, money, and one only has to look at this board to see what it is doing in the homes that spend the money they so crave.

that point was after ecu, ucf, houston, and memphis defected.

we are on our own, dude.

Don't forget Charlotte. I'm really excited for the future of CUSA in basketball

You have to think ODU will be back at some point as well.

Yeah, the facilities and support ODU receives has to be attractive to coaching candidates and recruits. Being in a conference with a further geographic reach than the CAA should also open up new recruiting grounds for them as well.

None of the programs in CUSA are going to be like Memphis. There are several programs that have the ability to be good, but none probably have the ability to be good every year. I think we are positioned to have 3-4 good teams every year though with no team consistently at the top.

Congrats on 17 in a row. Enjoy the streak; streaks this long don't happen very often.

Now that we've lost, I hope you guys finish the season with the longest win streak in D1 basketball, up until when we meet in the NCAA tournament, of course.

I’m still baffled by the lack of attention Nationally La Tech is not getting. What they're doing is impressive, I don’t care what league they're in.

people like reminding Tech that they don't have any good wins outside of Southern Miss and they lost to two Southland teams (McNeese & Northwestern St.)

It wasn't always that way. When we joined it, Rice, Tulsa, UTEP, and SMU were in the WAC too. Then they got invited to CUSA around 05, leaving us stranded on an island.

Congrats!

It will be quite an accomplishment if La Tech can win the last 2 on the road. Pomeroy has NMSU as a toss up, and La Tech as a 6 point dog to Denver. That's a 13% chance to win both games.

I think La Tech earns an at-large bid if they win both games no matter what happens in the WAC tournament.

First - the NCAA has been known to give at-large bids to teams from mid-major conferences who dominate their league in the regular season.

Second - the NCAA committee has never snubbed a team that was in the Coach's Top 25 at the end of the year. La Tech was 29th going into this week. Akron, Butler and Notre Dame lost above you, and Pitt has a tough game with Villanova tomorrow.

Middle Tenn. could very well be on top by next week if Tech can't get past New Mexico St & Denver on the road

I'm just proud that we went undefeated in the TAC this season. Now we just have to finish our business on the road and hopefully punch a ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
