That's all well and good ( and thank God that McGee follows Sabans philosophy- I'm sure recruiting that way is solely 'his' philosophy) but I bet its perfectly fine for a recruit who's committed somewhere else to come a visit UAB isn't it?
2way street or double standard? IDK. Well, yeah, I do know.

In this type of case, it's up to the recruit to decide if he wants to take that risk.

According to Rivals, D'Von Isaac is visiting WKU this weekend.

But if he wants to take that risk, the UAB (or any other school) coaches will certainly him, won't they? Or will they say " you're committed somewhere else. It wouldn't be right for you to visit here."?

I am sure it's like that everywhere. I'm just saying that's only half the story. It doesn't mention the schools/coaches on the recieving end.

I just like the fact its a UAB article and the comments are taken over by bammers and wiggles bickering with each other.

If you read the comments after any column on al.com, you kinda deserve what you get.

It's not a school's responsibility to protect another school's commitments is it?

Of course it's not. I'm not saying it is but I'm also not gonna pat coaches on the back for "you shop, we shop" or vilify a kid for changing his commitment. The whole system is all about what's best for ME. Both sides are trying to get the best they can and that lasts until the minute ink hits the paper.
There is a double standard. Period. Kids are expected to honor their commitment while coaches/schools can oversign, entertain other schools commits, etc.
That's wrong. I understand the "you shop, We shop" mentality from the schools side but I also say turnabout is fair play because we all know the school is ALWAYS shopping, regardless if the kid is or not.
