um, I'd put Saint Louis in the weaker 5 group at first at least....
20 good games
50 where strong team plays weak team
10 with St John's- though not sure how great St John's/Xavier or Butler would be but for discussions sake.
20+60.

Aresco:
12 good games
48 strong vs weak team
60 good games

so 20 more good games- but only 8 more definite on FS1.

Also- if Aresco could get a VCU- that gives them the 20 good games.

regardless, the Aresco league is NOTHING like CUSA(who will be a conference lucky to be 20th overall)

I'm not trying to compare the AResco League to what's going to be left of C-USA, just listing what Fox already has rights to.

And I guess I've re-convinced myself on Fox wanting 12 teams (including VCU for quality and SLU for market--sorry Dayton).

Assume an 18 game schedule with cross-division home-and-homes on a three-year rotation (home, away, home-and-home). So you play 7 teams home and home, 2 home and 2 away. 8 "good TV" teams in a round robin is 28, times 1+5/12 = about 40 good games. Plus "good team vs league opponent" games, 8 x 6 = 48 (2 home and homes, 2 other). That leaves 20 Providence vs Depaul type games, by my math.

that's assuming the top teams play 2x a year. I'd say that's hardly a guarantee. Also your numbers have Villanova being a top team, and presently they aren't even close. The difference between C7 and NBE won't be as much as one would think.

I have the top teams playing 1 5/12 x per year. The top teams who are in the same division play twice a year, and play the top teams in the other division 4 times in 3 years. With 4 "good teams" in each division, it works well--every good team has at least 10 good matchups, almost always 11, sometimes 12. One year Marquette and Depaul will have home and homes with St Johns and Providence, one year with Seton Hall and Villanova, and one year with Georgetown and VCU.

And Georgetown and VCU are playing home-and-home with either MArquette-Depaul, Xavier-Butler, or Creighton-St Louis.

That's some good TV.

who's the good teams in Georgetown's division? I see VCU, but who else? not nova right now, not St John's, not Seton Hall, not providence. Right now- 0 top 25 opponents in division....

west would have Butler, Creigton, and Marquette. So- guaranteed at least 3 top 25 games- at the most 6 if got really lucky.

to me- it's an issue.

I'm cool with it being 10 (Richmond, Butler, and Xavier)

Everyone else will be there in 2 years, if you deem it better to grow.

I don't know the behind closed door politics, but I think the networks are gonna want 12 teams to fill more time slots. I don't get the end of your statement (Everyone else will be there in 2 years).
