I don't think they'll go anywhere. The activity on a lot of paysites for individual schools is extremely high on a daily basis, even with the fact that you can find out about commitments and things like that almost immediately on twitter. A lot of the info I get from Illinois sites is outside of recruiting. Sure, that's a big part of it, but there's plenty of other good information about other schools, coaching staffs, administration, renovations, etc. that you can also get.

In somewhat related news, it looks like Aregeros Turner is on board. Hopefully anyway.

Pretty sure Twitter is eventually going to kill everything.

I knew about Bin Laden's death 10 minutes before people watching TV did.

There has been a number of athletes that said they committed to schools on twitter, when infact their offers had been rescinded or they did not comply to the terms of the offer. They did not meeting academic standards(GPA, test scores, couse requirements, etc). But of course you wouldn't know that if you only used twitter. A few of the recruiting sites
incorrectly reported commitments using twitter info and not checking with staff to corroborate the info.

Good point.
EX: Womble. If you didn't know any better, you'd think he scored a TD in Orange Bowl and his agent has him going in the 2nd Round of the upcoming Draft. "sarcasm"

Twitter definetly is a factor in this, "trying to be the first" rather than "trying to be most accurate" world.

Not a fan of paying for content on the Internet And I'm surprised so many people still do it. But kudos to those sites for bringing in that money. Scouts and Rivals aren't going anywhere anytime soon even with the emergence of social media
