I'm not usually impressed by technology. I remember when HD TV promised it was "like you were looking out a window." HD is/was a great improvement. At 4-times the resolution, the 4K TV delivers on that promise. You can stand a foot away or at any angle and it doesn't loose anything.

We have an 85" in our store displaying video shot in 4k. One scene is looking down at a plaza. It really felt like looking out a window.

the problem with 4K is the dearth of programming and the cost of the units...

If you are from Raleigh, which store? The guy out Glenwood I thought closed and NOW AudioVideo/Tweeter has been out of business for what 10 years now.

Audio Advice. It's ~2 miles past the old Now store. Sort of opposite corner from Carmax. Don't confuse us with that other "audio" company on the corner. We've been in Raleigh for 30+ years.

It is expensive but it hasn't been released yet. Just like HD, More programming will come and prices will go down. Until then up converted HD looks pretty good.

I guess that store was Audio Advice then.... and you have to be talking about the store down Glenwood Ave past the OLD NOWAV store going towards Durham. I stopped by once when I started for NOWAV. Lots of interesting gear and demo rooms there. Not sure what the other one is you are talking about, granted, I haven't been up that way looking for/at that kind of gear in 10years or so.

As I recall you guys carried

Martin Logan
AudioQuest cables I think.
Loew (sp?) tvs (it was a British Brand I believe/recall)

Damn, it has been a while, trying to remember what other "unique" brands you carried from my two stops by that store back in the day.

Thanks to Best Buy we have a restricted TV line - Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp & Sony.

You can see the full line of products here:

You should also check out the used room. Lots of good stuff in there at big discounts.

I guess Pioneer got back in the tv game. I would assume you would only carry Pioneer Elite. ...and to that end I would assume they went back into making those Kuro(sp?) Plasmas.

We used to be across from Wal-mart. We moved to new location in 2000.

I see mostly Samsung and Sony TVs going out. We do specialize in hi-end gear. TVs are one of the few areas Best Buy overlaps.
