Redman's Personal Power Ranking 1-31-13
This is my own personal idea of the C7 power ranking. I'd love to see what you guys think. Use Whatever configuration you think the league will take. Everyones ideas are welcomed here, we argue enough about that stuff on every other thread.
1. Butler
2. Marquette
3. Georgetown
4. Creighton
5. Villanova
6. St. Louis
7. St. John's
8. Xavier
9. Providence
10. Seton Hall
11. Dayton
12. DePaul
This is how I see the conference right now, NOT how i think it will end.

to me- this kind of proves my point...
VCU would probably be like #2 or 3 on the list this year instead of 11 Dayton.... *who id probably have below DePaul even

Haha, are you sure you are a Georgetown fan and not a VCU fan?

looking at the polls, VCU would be right with Marquette and Georgetown- it'd be personal preference for 2-4 spots(err, actually 3-5 spots, Creighton would be ahead of all 3). Butler only team in top 24 though.

I'd say it is staying in topic brining up that VCU would be in the top 5 of the new league, while Dayton would be fighting to stay out of the basement. You are the one who keeps on creating new threads directly or indriectly bringing up the membership not reflecting VCU.

to me, Creghton makes a lot of sense as well. The problem with them if you will, that means you almost have to get a 12th(though I suppose you could do 11 teams and be ok).
in your ratings that you just posted- I agree- but, i don't know what to make of last night with Butler. Did they just run into a buzz saw, and they'll be ok? Or, is it more indicative of upcoming problems?

The groupings sounded about right, but I thought I'd include all of the top-13 candidates. I just put the other three in the groups they fit in right now. Creighton would be going into the tournament with a good seed, Saint Louis would be on the bubble, and Dayton would be NIT-bound.

So why don't we just make up all OUR own personal beliefs and rank everyone according to the Top 25? I thought we were supposed to say what our Power rankings would be, not just repeat the Top 25 rankings.

Well, it's pretty obvious some folks have VCU ahead of Georgetown and Maquette in polls, but when I say it, you are like no they aren't. Most folks would have had Creighton and Butler 1/2 in some form- then 3-5 is Georgetown, Marquette, and VCU in some order. Then a pretty good gap down to the next group to me of St Johns and Villanova and St Louis. Then another big gap to the rest.

Stever20 gave his opinion that VCU would be in the top 3 in his list.
You said his opinion was wrong.
He cited expert authority--polls and bracketology.
So you called him out for just copying the top 25 rankings.
Not really consistent.
If you want to argue that VCU is over-rated in the polls and over-seeded in the bracketologies because X and Y and Z, go ahead. That's totally fair. But don't say "Nuh-uh" to his personal belief and then cry foul when he backs it up with something.

Yeah, back up your beliefs with a compelling argument to the contrary.
