RE: Noopy?
I've wondered that too.. Is he in the dog house? Injured? Battling off a bad case of syphilitic meningitis given to him from a Morris avenue hooker?

I know he's not a true pg, which is what we obviously need. However, I thought he'd be playing out of at least a desperate need for bodies, given our lack of depth. I had high hopes for hoopy :(...

Haven't others commented on his good, tight D when he's out there too? That's also something this team desperately needs

I was wondering the same thing. He could help with handling the ball and defense.

RE: Noopy?
He had such a great game against Creighton. I would never have thought that he would be getting zero minutes at the end of January. With Watts, Watkins, and Madison coming in, I wonder what kind of minutes will be available for Hoopy next season.

RE: Noopy?
He had been bothered by an ankle injury early in the season. Perhaps its back. He was pumped during the game so I doubt its an attitude problem.

From the games I have seen (which have been limited), I haven't seen him do any of that. He isn't a turnover machine like Scotland Williams, but he has looked lost on offense and defense every time I have seen him on the court...

Must not have seen this game:

5-8 3-Pts
3 Rebounds
1 Assist
3 Steals
16 Points

He has played 236 minutes and has registered 30 assists, 14 turnovers and 15 steals. Our other guards:

Jones 611 min 84 assists 70 turnovers 26 steals
Williams 536 min 24 assists 50 turnovers 21 steals
Taylor 358 min 49 assists 34 turnovers 25 steals

Terence Jones was on the bench for most of our run in the last 10 minutes of regulation last night. He has had a lot of turnovers but he is a 2 guard trying to play point.

I haven't been impressed with Terence either, but at least he seems to know the offense and defense. Most of the numbers you guys are throwing around are from November, he hasn't done much since... I think the answer is Taylor and as his knee has gotten better and he has gotten into better shape, his overall play has improved, even if it isn't showing up in the numbers.

All of that said, I haven't seen many games this year, so I may be completely wrong. But Haase isn't using him much lately for some reason...

Before last night, TJ had hit three threes in each of the last three games. I think he is doing well. Bad game last night but it happens.

I dont remember whether he participated in pregame warmups or not. If so, then maybe he was sitting out for non-physical reasons??

I'm not saying he isn't good. He has just had a tough time playing out of position at the point. We only have a couple of guys that can create their own shot and he is one of them.

RE: Noopy?
I think it was probably just part of the gameplan. I'd like to think Hoopy is a really good, potentially great player (and based on the practice observations from last year by certain posters, you'd think he was the answer at PG), but I guess the coaching staff hasn't seen it much in practice. Or maybe he's a bit slow because of his injury earlier in the year, therefore causing his minutes to decrease. The few times I've seen him play recently, he seems a bit hesitant when he gets the ball and looking to pass more than try to be a scorer (which might be his role, but at this point in his career and on this team, he needs to show he can score if he's going to get more minutes).

Weirdly, I think the loss of Jekore Tyler has hurt Hoopy's playing time. Jekore was behind him in the rotation, so he got minutes ahead of him; now it seems he's shifted into a lesser version of Jekore's role. Then again, it could just be lack of effectiveness from his injury.

Still No Hoopy. If Alexander Scotland-Williamson can get into the game for his mandatory foul and turnover, why no love for Hoopy?

Haase can play whoever he wants, but I would be disappointed if we're running off a player to free a spot in the spring signing class.

There was one obvious foul that wasn't called by the Refs.
