That is how it appeared. I am actually excited about the future of this group up front. Imagine if we get a top flight back to go along with Lynch behind them . Wow. Which brings me to wonder how hard it should be to pursuade one of the top JC backs in the country to come here right now! I would think a guy would see a big year potentially next year if given the opportunity.

Anybody see the 49ers Kapernick run the read-option against the Falcons? The Falcons elected to stay with Kapernick. He handed off and Gore & another RB ran for 3 TDS.

If we dont get a JUCO, RB is a position that true freshman can come in and make a difference ( as opposed to a Lineman and yes I understand that RB need to do more than just "run to daylight" with blocking assignmenets etc.....)

Our offense would be as tough to stop as anybody elese in the country if we land one.

RE: 3 Star Recruit?
According to DD, we had two run blocking schemes last year. The 'read blocking scheme', which we excelled at; and the 'power scheme' where we sometimes struggled against the better defenses. We need to improve the second before anybody is going to be a stud RB. Maybe some of the bigger OL guys who redshirted this tear can help.

Kimble is still listed as a two star. Lets not inflate anyone's ego here. The dude was a QB for a 5A school in downstate Illinois. He isn't a five star recruit from a 2A Catholic school in Chicago.
1A are the smallest schools in IHSA football, 8A the largest.

Yeah my allusion was to Larry English and Marian Catholic which, I believe is a 3A school. Same goes with Aurora Christian. They are smaller schools but have better talent because they have a better population base to choose from.

Downstate kids look impressive but rarely progress far in the next level. Yes there are a host of exceptions, but Chicagoland area is more competitive.

Just nitpicking but Larry was a Cadet from Marmion Military Academy as we in the old days knew it. Marmion Academy for the youngsters.

RE: 3 Star Recruit?
The Suburban Christian Conference as it is now called (former Suburban Catholic Conference) is an unusually grouping. You have 3A programs like Immaculate Conception & Aurora Christian in the league as 5A programs Marian Central Catholic(Woodstock), St Francis(Wheaton) & Montini(Lombard). Marmion since it is all guys gets bumped up in the qualifier and is actually considered a 6A program for football.

While some apprehension is natural about recruiting and who signs, remember that there are still 4 days left till the opening day of signing and there are still quite a few talents out there either uncommitted or committed with offers they'd like to upgrade.

It's hard to preach patience but let's give the staff a chance.
