Does Paul Daugherty have it written in his contract that no matter what point he is trying to make, or if he is being complimentary or derogatory, he always has to seem like an a$$?

I rarely listen to Cincy sport's radio shows. Are they as obsessed with the Reds and Bungles attendance as they are UC? The Reds draw pretty bad for a team, who won the division. They also announce paid attendance as oppossed to actual attendance.

Reds attendance last 2 years is exactly right in the middle of MLB.
Not bad considering Cincy is a smaller market team. Ahead of NY Mets and just below Atlanta.
The Bengals had a string of sellouts that lasted for many years, but the past couple of years there have been many games that did not sell out.

I was thinking back to the Indians when they went through their run and were selling out night after night. I always figured the Reds would do the same when they got back to winning.

That era also coincided with their new ball park opening in 1994. To their credit Cleveland actually won playoffs series also. Made a couple of World Series appearances to boot. The Jake was packed all the time back then. Indians are struggling with attendance the last few years, pretty much at the bottom of MLB.

However, on the flip side Lance McAlister will spend the show telling Bengals fans why they are the ones in the wrong for not going (as opposed to past records, Mike Brown, prices, etc.). In regards to UC, he will just comment how bad our fans are. He was just brutal last night from 6-6:30. His point last night was basically XU is a better program than UC.

Had to turn him off once again last night. Bringing up Huggins and complaining about attendance, his act is tired. Why talk about people who are still bitter from the Huggins firing?

He's a lazy-ass blogger that tries to gussie it up by slathering his articles in "folksy" schtick.

No, that is just who he is.

It is funny you ask this because I was going to originally comment Doc has actually been a lot nicer to UC the past year or so than he used to be. Tells you how bad it has been around here.

I actually found the article OK and quite complimentary. He just kept sticking in his crappy little side comments.

I want to be there when the team comes out, etc. I want to be able to get my beer and peanuts and be comfortable in my seat before tip-off. I want to be able to stand up and cheer the team when they come out with the intro video. So I show up a half hour or so before game time.

Last night, same as every game, 10 minutes before tip-off and easily 2/3 of seats open, especially the lower arena seats. I am always embarrassed for the team when they come out, "Here come the Cats!", to a less than half full arena.

Sure midway through the first half the arena was pretty filled up and looked great. But the intros, the tip-off.... nothing. If I was a recruit I would think "no effing way" would I look forward to such an apathetic crowd.

We wonder why they struggle in the first half? Coming out to a sparse crowd to start the game, ZERO energy in the arena... hell it makes me feel depressed so I am sure that it affects the players mindset.

Agreed! I always try to get there at least 20 minutes before tip off and it amazes me how many people are still not there after the 1st timeout and then they leave with 5 minutes to go in the game often. Its not like it is a 4 hour affair or anything. The energy is just not there at the start of the game.

All the late arrivals really make it tough in some of the chair back seats in the upper deck off to the sides as every person that comes up blocks part of the court, which just irritates me to no end. Whatever happened to going to/from your seat at timeouts or at least breaks in action?

I guess a lost common courtesy. That used be a standard, like holding a door open for someone. Even if you arrive late for a game and it had tipped off, wait for a break in the game before going to your seat.
