Anyone know how much you baseball stadium you get for $12M?

It will be nice to have baseball again.. and it is not like UNT is not sitting in the middle of a ton of talent. Combine that with the nature of how baseball scholarships work and UNT's status of being a state school is a point of leverage over SMU and TCU.

And SMU doesn't even play baseball, iirc.

Now that you mention it, not sure with SMU..

I know they have flirted with it in the past. Not sure if they have a team or not or if it is only club.

Anyone know how big of a price increase you are looking a DBU vs UNT?

$12 million will get you a lot of baseball stadium.

Baseball stadiums are dirt cheap compared to football stadiums or basketball arenas.

The rebuild of Hayes Stadium at Charlotte was $5.4M, so UNT's should be a palace.

STATE OF TEXAS
CAPITAL EXPENDITURE PLAN
For Fiscal Years 2014-2015
Including Supplemental Information through Fiscal Year 2017
September 1, 2012

Link:
http://www.brb.state.tx.us/pub/cep/CEP_2014-2015.pdf

This appears to be a submission for 2014-15 and beyond and not actually approved funds at this time?

Could these be subject to review? (I work in gov't and see many a proposal whittled down or rejected. Just sayin.)

NB: UTSA ~$808m; UTEP ~$604m; UT@Dallas $1,024m; UT Austin $2.4b; A&M system wide >$2.7b (my calculator exploded)

Texas Tech Health Sciences Center $534m? (I didn't know they had one. Maybe after $534m they will?)

Texas Tech has two medical schools one in Lubbock and one in El Paso both are full 4 year schools and free standing and independent of the university in Lubbock

they also have two full nursing programs in Lubbock and El Paso and a program in Odessa and a pharmacy program in Amarillo and another one starting in Abilene

and just so people understand these listings of things that "will be built" are actually a wish list of things that would like to be built and there is no guarantee that anything on the list for anyone will be built if the State of Texas does not allow tuition revenue bonds to be issues and they have not allowed that for at least the last budget session and I believe the last two budget sessions which is why many of these things are on list from as far back as 2009 or longer

so just because it is on that list does not mean it will be built now or ever
