ESPN announcers gave us a shout out during the Kansas - WVU game. Tied for #3!

Make it 18 in a row for Kansas. Bill Self has that program rolling. This will most likely be his fourth straight 30-win season in Lawrence.

There is another 8 game winning streak (as of Sunday morning) unless they lost since then.

And outside of KU, the rest of those schools will likely be situated squarely in the bubble if they don't win their conference tournament. Good teams winning in bad conferences doesn't move the needle.

Good teams losing in bad conferences is even worse.
Good teams winning big in the 11th rated conference certainly should not be as impressive as running through the Big East, but this relating of CUSA to the real lower rated leagues like the Big Sky, the Big South and American East is ridiculous (although predictable).

who is the hypothetical "good team losing in a bad conference?"
Too MTSU, LA Tech, Akron & Ohio (who we consider a quality win), are in the Sun Belt, WAC and MAC... conferences that aren't ranked much below CUSA. Heck, LA Tech has won 10 in a row and has a win over our lone remaining quality opponent. If they win out, where will they be seeded?

How can Kansas win 18 in a row and not be #1?

I think some voters must have KU fatigue. Right now, its the best program in the country.

Current RPI of teams that beat us:
38
12
11
Current RPI of teams that beat LA Tech:
82
101
252
So that's pretty much the same thing I guess

maybe so, but their RPI is currently 7 spots better than ours and they're getting more votes in both the AP and Coaches Polls. Quite frankly, we're competing far more with programs like LTU, Akron and MTSU for tournament slots and seeding than we are with middle-to-upper-tiered programs like Arizona, Gonzaga, Butler and Louisville's.
