Basketball tourney and UCF question
Is UCF basketball on probation and out of the basketball tourney this year? If so it will be an interesting twist to the seeds. With the current standings UCF would be a 3 seed with UTEP 4, Tulsa 5 and ECU 6th. IF UCF is banned, UTEP would be the 3 seed, Tulsa gets the 4th seed and ECU the 5th seed meaning 1st round byes. Instead of the traditional 4 games on day 1 there would be 3 games 6 vs 11, 7-10, and 8-9. Using the current standings, this is how the tournament would play out

Wednesday
6 Tulane vs 11 Rice
7 Marshall vs 10 UAB
8 Houston vs 9 SMU

Thursday
1 USM vs Houston/SMU
2 Memphis vs Marshall/UAB
3 UTEP vs Tulane/Rice
4 Tulsa vs 5 ECU

If UCF is eliminated it pays to be in top 6 (assuming UCF is in top 5) as you get a 1st round bye. If UCF does participate all this is for naught and its a 4-4-2-1 games per day with the traditional setup.

RE: Basketball tourney and UCF question
UCF can't participate in any postseason events including the conference tournament. The best we can do this year is win the conference regular season.
