NCAA tournament really is all about Matchups and which players are hot or not.

While what may be missing is enough killer instinct to ensure games do not get closer...which could come back to bite us...

They clearly can finish these games, as nearly every one of them, save Minnesota where Memphis blew a massive 1 point lead late, Louisville, where a 10 point midway through the second was lost but the lead was lost for good with a decent amount of time left, and VCU, where Memphis actually fell behind EARLY, chopped a 16 point lead down all the way to 2, then fell back in the last 6 minutes after a few good threes.

Too much spin here creates the idea that Memphis lost to East Carolina, Harvard and Marshall.

Yes- we lost to Lipscomb too.

I really think it will come down to everyone on the team being focused and playing with selfless mindsets. If they can do that, there is no reason they can't make at least a Sweet 16 run. They certainly have the talent and ability.

Reading some of the garbage on here we won't even make the tourney :muttering:

It's possible that we won't - but in the meantime we can moan and ***** about the possibility, or we can enjoy our winning streak.

It's sad that people have less faith in this year's team with more talent in a weaker conference with a weaker overall year for college BB, than they did last year. Was Will Barton better than Geron + Shaq? Add DJ and JJ's maturation and I say we are a much better team than we were last year.

Sure we could, but I think we just as easily could be out after the first game as well. I think that is what is reflected in many of the posts on this board, the uncertainty of where we really stand.

I think talent wise this team can compete...

Guys have to start shooting better, talking better on defense and taking care of the ball better. Do these 3 things and get a good draw and we have a shot.

I see no ceiling for these guys if their heart and determination continue to bloom.

Agreed

The good news is we are seeing some signs of improvement in most of those areas.

Turnovers is were we need the most work.

I agree. It appears that the work that was put in this week to cut down on turnovers worked against Tulsa. I hope it continues to improve.
