I figured since we have a lot of newbies, there will be a lot more interest in traveling to new places... so where are you gonna visit this year?

I plan on making AT LEAST the FIU trip... Always wanted to go to Miami, and I hear it's in a real good part of town.

FIU is in a more residential part of Miami. If you go to that game, you'll want to stay downtown or on the beach. The more touristy (is that a word?) parts of Miami are a 15-20 minute drive from their campus. If you come to the FAU game, stay on the beach in Boca or Delray.

FIU's campus is in the western suburbs, but it is virtually a straight shot on Florida State Highway 836, which is only 12 miles from the coast. Without traffic you can get there in 15 minutes. With traffic... A little longer. Or maybe a lot.

I would definitely recommend a trip to Miami. It is almost an entire different country down here. Some people love it, some people hate it. Definitely an experience you have to try though. Very diverse city.

Charlotte seems like a beautiful city itself. I would love to visit sometime.

In my opinion Miami is the worst part of Florida. I plan on attending all MU home games.

There are parts, but Brickell (downtown), Bayside, and Coral Gables are nice. So is Coconut Grove.

You must not get out much. That's cool, just a bit ignorant to pass judgement on what you know little to nothing about though.

In fairness, Miami is pretty close to the per capita murder capital of the US, so I guess I know what he's saying. I guess we needed to replace Memphis in that capacity.

I will go to MTSU this year and will hit the Ohio and Virginia Tech games OOC because they're close. If I do more than 3 road games the wife will leave me.

I've lived in Jacksonville and really enjoyed the town. Downtown blows because it's mostly corporate HQ's there, but if you have enough time to explore the area, there are lots of nice parts of town, like the beach, and plenty of great places to eat.

It's not really a fair comparison vs my experience at Jacksonville but I've been to both the FIU and FAU stadiums. Neither were for games but more just to go to the stadiums and experience the campus for a few minutes and both FIU and FAU were in nice towns and the campuses were really nice.

I hope to get to both the Marshall games at FAU and FIU this coming season, but realistically I'll only be able to get to one (not really to favor one over the other as much as to match my work schedule for the time).

UAB is my only lock at this point. Living in Atlanta I already make six road trips each fall. I'll probably do at least one more roadie, no idea which one though.
