Looks incredible! A well deserved tribute to NIU FB, which should help our FB team prepare for Bowl games and make it alittle easier to recruit the talent we need.

+1000 I have opined about the red side panels in the past which I think will look garish rising behind the Yordon Center.

+1 Who would have thought they might try to slip some red into an NIU facility? Insanity.

How did you get that pic? Were you in the Yordon Center?

The new DL coach tweeted it this AM. Looks like he got in one of the lifts to take the pic... Which gives a more impressive view by far.

Warning overreaction: How come he is not in Florida recruiting?!?!? It's been 2 days straight he has posted a pic.

Seriously, it does look massive and I cant wait to see it in the fall.

I think so, too, but I've decided to ignore that since the greater need will be filled by building a quality IPF. Besides, none of the architecture on the NIU campus matches anyway, so it would be disingenuous for us to make the Chessick match the Yordon and have the Yordon look like it's part of the stadium.

When you look at all the mismatched buildings, you know you're in Dekalb. I take comfort in that.

I don't see a problem with the way the CPC will look. Based on the drawings, the entrances will look great, and the color does not bother me. (It IS one of the team colors, after all.) I just hope they'll give donors a tour - even the common folks who donated less than $100K.

Anybody thats an artist or graphic designer please raise your hand. Then let me know how you feel about the red panels? Those red panels are NOT a good look and will also be costly to maintain the brightness and color. NIU should have had help client reviewing the art/design of what they're buyin (ie: pig dog) rather then just shelling out the money. Maybe I'm overreacting but are there other any university facilities w/ red panels?

I'm more worried about the 3 dogs sculpture at the entrance.

Along with all the University Signage done in "UPS Brown".

I saw a small Huskie sculpture at the Convo, on the inside near the entrance, that looked way better than the 3-dog sculpture they have planned. And way better than pigdog too. It actually looked like a Huskie. They should copy that one.

Athletics should not accept everything they are given. Responsibility should be placed in an art committee whose members would decide yay or nay on a sculpture and document the reasons. Then, the administrators can throw the responsibility onto the committee when explaining the decision to the donor. We simply cannot accept anything so as not to hurt the feelings of a donor. The PigDog artist and the person(s) who accepted it should be ashamed of themselves for what they did to a beautiful, proud animal. I hope we're not on the same path with the 3-dog sculpture, but I fear we are.

We definitely are. We've all seen the finished product. You and I both know that they are planning on putting that thing on full display in front of the brand new CPC. Absolutely brutal that we can't get one piece of art that we are collectively proud of. It's not that hard.

Those mongrels and the PigDog are not huskies. I guess we are now promoting different breeds to ensure compliance with the Fairness to All Dog Breeds Act of 2013.

I have hope that what we saw of the three mongrels will not be the finished product, but I'm afraid it will be because Athletics does not want to hurt the donor's feelings. C'mon Athletics, just say no to something you know is bad. At least I hope they know it's bad!
