Other than all that, this would be a great idea!

Our ticket office does not have its act together. I ordered my MAC championship tickets over the phone. They had no record of my order when I went to pick them up at the hotel in Detroit. To NIU's credit a nice young lady gave me two tickets without charging me on the spot. She did say that they would charge my credit card if they could not find a record of my original order.

Bottom line, I got charged twice. Again to their credit after I called and proved that I had paid twice, they did credit my account so at the end of the day I was only charged once.

Still, a bit of a hassle and evidence that there is room for improvement.

Wow what a joke. I think they need to get new upper management in the ticket office. I've had a few problems with the ticket office over the years, when I shouldn't have.

Easily. My favorite story is when some Iowa State fans showed up for the game in 2003 with my seats. They bought through Ticketmaster and they wound up with my season ticket seats. How does that happen? Then, of course, the Huskie Stadium ushers wouldn't let either one of us sit there until it got resolved.

Thats most stadiums, and half of the airlines.

Actually that happened to me at the Kansas game this year. Someone had the same seat/ticket that one of us in our group had. Bizarre, but it ended up working out fine.

Ticket office horror stories? No, can't be. I refuse to deal with them for anything. Hmmm, and our attendance is down. I wonder if the two could be at least partially related. 03-shhhh

Losing them will but us near the bottom of the MAC in this class. And say what you want, but I'd rather be on the top than the bottom.

I said it a long time ago, this hire of Carey just seemed like a knee jerk reaction. He really has nothing to hang his hat on with recruits. We needed a guy that could not only keep the class together, but keep a fan base that could still go either way, excited. This is scarey. I don't want to be negative, but it just is a shame that we cannot translate a BCS berth into recruiting excitement! That is one thing Boise State WAS able to do.

People may want to keep their head in the sand, but I tend to agree with you and fear the same things. The Orange Bowl, back to back MAC championships, the Chessick Center, it's all awesome! But the reality is it's not taking us to the next level and affecting this recruiting class in a positive way. I fear that we are near a CMU bubble of a few years ago and that Rod Carey could be our Dan Enos. I hope I'm wrong, but it just feels like that's where it's heading.

You're acting like what NIU is doing is flukey and can't be sustained. It has been sustained. I'm not stirring the pot, I'm telling the truth. We aren't a one hit wonder.

And to anybody worried about or blaming Carey, I suggest you go look at what's happening with Oregon's recruits right now. They lost their head coach and they're coming off 4(?) straight BCS bowls and their class is getting raided too. You people are being completley irrational.

Enos came in and changed the entire offense to I believe a more pro-style, which was a horrible idea. That is why they're so bad now. Carey isn't going to change much, if anything. I think with the players saying they liked the hire of Carey as the HC says a lot IMO.

There you go being logical and using forward-thinking. Seriously, can you imagine how difficult it would be to take down someone's name, address, home or cell phone number, e-mail address, etc., and include it in a computer file, or print out a hard copy to place in a folder?
Other than all that, this would be a great idea!

I did suggest to athletics to hand out a sign up for season ticket info at the OB watch parties. I was told that it was a good idea and that they would try to coordinate it with the Alum Assoc who was running all of the events. Not sure if it actually happened or not.

Did anyone here go to a local OB watch party and can report on this?

I like NIU and they are fun to watch, but I do think getting people to buy into the 2013 home schedule you have is going to be real tough. I hate to say this but I think your home attendance next year goes down further. Five true home games, one of them an FCS team and surely a couple weeknight games against some of the MAC bottom feeders.

I agree. There are those that think the schedule doesn't matter though.

That's another reason why the athletic department should have been getting people to sign up for season tickets as early as possible - get them signed up and get a deposit before they are able to look up/see the home opponents.

I still think we will see a small spike in season tickets this year.
