Assuming both Memphis and S.Miss win out, the game between them on Feb 9th could decide who makes the top 25 or not.

I expect S.Miss to start receiving votes Monday in the Polls if they win tomorrow. The Tiger's started receiving votes this week, and will continue to gather more votes Monday with a win tomorrow. If both teams win their games next week, the following polls may have both teams close enough to the top 25 that the winner of the game between the two could jump into the top 25 the following week.

Here is how it could go:

Jan 28th polls (this monday): (Memphis current: AP 33/Coaches: not ranked)
Memphis 31
S. Miss 35

Feb 4th Polls:
Memphis 28
S. Miss 30

Feb 9th: The game

Feb 11th Polls:
Winner in the Top 25?

A lot has to go right, but this has a reletively decent chance of happening imo. At the very least, one would think Memphis would be ranked since we are already recieving votes.

Not necessarily important, but definitely helps with seeding later.

Helps with seeding on a number of levels. Having your scores posted more prominently and all of your replays on SC just helps you stay in front of more people, tournament committee members included.

Possibly. Though I doubt a coaches poll voter is really gonna put us in the Top 25 because we beat Southern Miss. Just how those guys think.
