-Anthony Alford to Ole Miss. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...t-ole-miss
-Arsenio Favor to Alabama State. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/...013_m.html

Jamaris Hart to Arkansas State. Better football program, in whats becoming a better conference. Probably gets less playing time early on than if he came to UAB.

TJ Green to Clemson. Bandwagoner. Not sure he will see playing time. Not bad playing on the 2nd best team in ACC either. He'll be in no situation different than the bench warming walk ons at UAT who had scholarship offers to play elsewhere. Except he gets a scholarship.

Kalvin Robinson to WKU. Better football program, in whats becoming a better conference. Brohm was probably his assigned recruiter. Not hard to sway him away.

Probably more de-commitments to come. Ill trade skill players for O-linemen and D-linemen.

Give me Fraser and Moore for O-line.
Ill take Rodney Edwards and some juco d linemen.

Gotta win games to get good recruits, gotta have good recruits to win games. Thats why UAB has been the revolving door of suckage. Unfortunately stars as it relates to recruits matter more than we are willing to realize.

USM also lost their top QB commit to Miss State on Saturday...

Yet even when we beat them, we lose to them.

I'll take beating them over what you call "losing" to them all day.

If my recollection is correct, we have beaten them with 4 different QB's in the last 4 years.

Tongue was firmly planted in cheek, I will take wins against them as well but we can't keep losing recruits to USM, ASU, and WKU and build a winning program.

We can't keep losing to the teams we play.

Out of those 3, we haven't lost to those teams in over 4 years.

Ok lol I agree. The sky isn't falling we all need to remember that. Let's see how it all shakes out before we hit the ole panic button. We are still in on some good kids. All those atars are nice for conversation but the proof is in the pudding. Recruit to your needs and don't worry about what some recruiting guru says that really don't know that much about the kids we are after.

I plan on being at the signing day social to see the future of UAB football and celebrate this class. Who us with me?

I'm sorry, but I have a problem with a few things here.

First, WKU and Arkansas State are NOT better programs than UAB. They have been more successful in the last year or two, but overall, they are as "in the dark" as almost all of us non-BCS programs. WKU was winless a few years back.

Plus, the Sunbelt is NOT becoming a better conference. It actually is a WORSE conference since we just stole several of their programs. C-USA is also worse than it used to be, but that doesn't make the Sunbelt better.

Finally, why do you expect more de-commitments? Your vision of UAB Football is lower than the reality, and the reality is pretty low right now.

Is there any chance in UAB finding out (no, I don't expect it would be made public by UAB) why a number of our better commits switched schools? If it is because of something the school can improve for the 2014 recruits, then we should make it a priority to make the needed changes. If we don't know why, we can't make any needed changes and we risk the same thing happening over and over each year. I know that someone will say "It happens at every school" and it certainly does, but players like Mullins going to a BCS school is more easily explained than going to a school UAB has a winning streak against like USM. UAB needs to know why.

How were Mullens and Craft our better commits? Local? Yes. Better? You're going to have to make that argument. Greer makes sense because Briscoe came in and he was already behind AB and JP. He wanted to play somewhere. I hated to see him go, but Briscoe should be able to step right in for him. If Mullens wants to go to USM, let him. I doubt he would have played for UAB anyways. Same with Craft. He saw the writing on the wall and didn't want to warm the bench for 5 years. I'm not worried about where any of our recruits go if we have players to fill in for them. I too, am more worried about our lines and pretty much our entire defense than I am about a 4th string QB going somewhere else.

Not sad about losing some of these skill players. As has been mentioned, UAB's downfall over the last several years relates to a lack of size, skill, and depth at the OL and DL positions. I would trade some solid lineman for skill players any day of the week. Skill players are irrelevant if we can't get good protection from the OL and we can't get the ball back with stops on defense.

+1 The loss of the CB and DE hurt but I would trade them both for a couple of DT's that can play THIS year.

I agree, the skill position is one that is easy to fill. I went to a D-1 Camp yesterday and there had to be out of approx 80 kids, 2/3 skill players, the obvious absences of Linemen was glaring.

If you want to be sucessful at our level you must be able to control the line of scrimage.

My guess would be from someone other than Callaway or Brown.

Only 9 more days until we know for sure who is signing up to wear the green & gold for UAB in 2013. I do pray that Coach is not "blowing smoke" by his optimism.

Watson said it all the time, and he was right. Those were some hella football players.

If some of them had ever set foot on campus, we might have had something to brag about.
