1. Haase is running about as up tempo as he can with the numbers we have.

2. C-USA basketball will not be as bad as some doomsayers predict it to be. Take Memphis out of the equation and it may even be better in the long run than its current configuration.

I still don't see the sky falling.

1. Exactly. I don't know if people forget how slow the team played under Davis, or what. The tempo is definitely much faster this season. There are a lot of misses that should be makes, or this record would be a good bit better right now. That gives me the most hope for the future. It's not like thing look disorganized.

2. Adding Charlotte, ODU, and MTSU definitely helps the overall depth basketball-wise in the conference. I hope Tulsa stays, and UTEP, USM, UAB, Marshall, and Tulsa all are consistently quality teams. If we can get something from La Tech and UNT, that'd be even more helpful. Don't love the UTSA, and F_U adds for basketball, but that can be dealt with as long as the top is strong. And, Memphis now is not the loss that Memphis would have been 4 years ago.

Okay, I'm warming up to the basketball side of the new C-USA. I really hope Tulsa stays, and USM is going to be strong in basketball again next year. UAB needs to turn the corner next season.

La Tech, MTSU, and UNCC all have a good chance of winning their leagues this year before entering C-USA. Not too bad.

At this point, I am not concerned with how good the new teams will be in CUSA. I am concerned with how good UAB will be in new CUSA.

Dead on MB. We need to take care of our own house or it won't matter how good or bad everyone else is.

USM lost two starters from last year. They both transferred and because of family situations got to play right away. One is the leading scorer for South Carolina(Page) and the other is a starter for Penn State(Newbill). If those two had stayed who knows how good we would have been.

This USM team was tied for last in the country in experience when the season began. USM managed to hire the worst head football coach available and just might have actually hired the best basketball coach available. He has three transfers sitting out this year and two of them are better than anyone on this team this year. Look for Tyndall to get a huge raise. Money is already being donated for that purpose. He is also a humble and great guy. Have shared a beer or two with him. For what its worth he does not want USM to got to the NBE if a chance comes. He likes the new CUSA for basketball.

You are a little off there ERC on a few things....Newbill left 2 years ago and wasn't on the roster last year. USM lost Page as you said but also lost Dodson, Angelo Johnson, Bolden, and Pelham. McGill and Jekins (2 of 4 actual returners that played) each averaged 2.6 points a game last year and averaged about 9-14 minutes a game. Mills and Watson were the only 2 real contributors we had return from last year. Not trying to stir the pot but USM lost a lot more than you think.

Regardless, I am hoping USM can bring as many fans to Bartow for our game next weekend as you guys usually bring to Hattiesburg. I don't know if it will happen but I will be there along with 3 others. Looking forward to another great Bartow matchup that hopefully my Eagles can get a rare win. See you then.
