Well, they didn't and Bowden lost his cool, but that doesn't make him a POS. You really need to back off calling him a POS. He hasn't had T called on him since coming to ECU that I can recall. But, your right, the refs should have called Tucker for the elbow the play before and for holding on to our players, then maybe Bowden doesn't loose his cool. They let it keep going till something happened, Bowden got caught, but he wasn't the one that started it.

I don't care who you are or what you've done in the past. You don't know Shamar, you don't know him one damn bit. He loses his cool one time and he is a POS? Whatever. And, Lang getting a shiner in practice should speak for itself about ruff nature of your team's play. I never said what Bowden did was okay, it wasn't, but I can see why he could lose control. Don't judge a kid on one f-ing play.

Bowden was 100% cleared in that case, it wasn't him and he wasn't even at that party.

"Shamarr Bowden kept his cool when members of the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrested him on April 30 for something he didn’t do. Staying true to his nature, he didn’t overreact when the truth came to light either.

Bowden, a rising senior on the East Carolina men’s basketball team, had felony weapons charges against him dropped last week and upon hearing the news — while on his way to pick up some steaks at Harris Teeter — Bowden calmly processed the information in much the same way he did the day of his arrest.

“My mom called me and let me know that the letter had been sent to my house and that the charges had been officially dismissed by the grand jury,” Bowden said during an interview in ECU coach Jeff Lebo’s office on Thursday. “I paused for a while. I just sat and thought. Then I texted coach and said, ‘It’s over. The grand jury dismissed it.’ It took me like five minutes. I just sat there and didn’t really say much.”

Being arrested is not proof of guilt. See what happens when you judge someone on a arrest alone. It wasn't him, he wasn't even there, but no never mind something like facts.

Yep, great reporting there by NBC, they fail to even mention that Bowden was cleared by a grand jury or that as it turns out it was another person that had the gun and that Bowden wasn't even there.

Mistaken identity, the "witness" didn't actually see the person's face that had the gun, but told cops it was Shamarr, turns out he wasn't there and had proof.

It's official: Bowden suspended one game. For a flagrant foul, apparently. No mention of there being any punches thrown. Nice PR.

Does he have to say punches to please you?

"I'm very disappointed in Shamarr's actions Saturday night," Lebo said. "There is no place for that in our sport and we don't tolerate it in our program."

"His behavior was very uncharacteristic, but unfortunately he let his emotions get the best of him."

Plus, I think everyone knows it was for throwing punches, jeez.

I know it, and you know it. But if some lazy/understaffed news outlet picks up the release, it's going to print it without mentioning what really happened.

And we both know simply saying "a flagrant foul" is intentionally vague and smoothes over the severity of his actions.

Oh, you mean like the lazy reporting already being done? Like mentioning Bowden's arrest, but failing to mention that he was cleared?

And, Flagrant 2 foul is a bad one, it pretty much is fighting, no real way to smooth over getting called for a flagrant 2 foul and being EJECTED from the game.

That's a perfect demonstration of how easily it can happen. And nowhere does the release say "Flagrant 2."

Don't reply in it then. It hasn't been replied to since yesterday. All the action is in the other 'incident' thread. No wonder you aren't a mod anymore 05-stirthepot

Right. I was going to make a point there too but I was bored with him by then.
