Well I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

B12 yes...B1G no way!

My problem is that I have spent the past 10 years hating the B1G.

If this past season didnt teach us to never say never, nothing will. It would make sense to me, its the best fit geographically. NIU has a brand now, so I dont think its as tough of a sell as some think. The facilities and stadium capacity of course are a concern, but how many fans per game does NU really get anyway? One thing you would not have to worry about, is that if NIU was in the Big 10, every single game would be sold out both conference and non-conference. That is 24000 and however many additional seats can be renovated in, those would be filled easily. Between home and away fans, NIU would easily be able to get 30000 per game in the Big 10.

Please just stop thinking that this is possible.

We need to be an AAU school. Buffalo has a better chance of getting a B1G invite than we do.

In what f*cking world is the MAC > B1G?!?!?!?!

I mean I can't even believe this is a conversation...the nation laughs at the MAC and you're content with that? This is like the discussion of settling for the chubby cute girl to wed vs. out-kicking your coverage and popping a ring on the bombshell?

state the exact same stance this article makes... I would totally agree with him.

(FYI) that is the author's professional photo.

Anyway, I wouldn't want to move to the BIG anyway. I see us more in line with a BIG12 sort of conference style. And I mean this in all seriousness. We are more football focused, our offense plays far more into the game that our defense and our BB program is as well known as Iowa State's.

I would bet that guy says "dude" a lot.
He is The Dude.

I was going to say that. :muttering:

If the Huskies were to lose half their games, but somehow triple their attendance, they would have a better shot at being accepted by a BCS conference. It's all about bringing money to the game.

And I'm not talking about technicalities either, like how many fans showed up for the Huskie "home game" vs Iowa. If the Huskies could expand Huskie Stadium and then get over 40,000 fans to show up even for games against UMass or Eastern Illinois, BCS conferences would be courting them.

The Illness average over 40,000, and look how horrible their team is.
