RE: what to make of southern miss??
The TEAM will worry about the next game.

I am ready for UConn next year.

Southern is likely another good but not great CUSA team. Capable of beating our kids, but not as good. If our kids keep winning until that game and they manage not to lose they will be falling all over themselves. They have a real nasty middle aged group of fans- spend the entire game yelling at the refs and at our team. They have always sat under one of the baskets- of course I have not been to a game there since 2005, when those middle agers spent the game cussing out Darius Washington. We won.

Reminds me of Marshall last year. Biggest conference home game in their history- too hyped up, and we kicked the crap out of them.

They are getting a lot more play on sports radio down here in gulfport than they have in years past. FWIW. Their fans seem to think this is their year to knock us off.

Absolutely. Marshall is not going to let a loss like that happen again. Need to be ready.

I don't think people saying this actually watched the game. Marshall played like a team that just doesn't care. It was not only a matter of a fluky shooting night for USM that caused that lopsided score. After 8 minutes, Marshall quit. The number of times the Marshall players just watched a guy drive past them or take a wide open 3 was ridiculous.

I saw a 24-0 run once. 04-cheers

That was special. And that came on the road against a top 10 team. Doubt anything like that has happened since.

Since Louisville the Tigers have outlawed opponent’s miracles. Lol, in fact we’ve conjured up a few miracles of our own. 03-wink

Time to start putting 2 good halves together and play complete games the rest of the way.

The sad reality is we haven't beaten a team yet that would make the tourney as an at large.

Just to prove a point. As I said. I'm not saying USM isn't a good team. But Ohio almost rolled Marshall by 40. Marshall gave up last night, bottom line. USM will not duplicate those types of stats on our team. They will not play that good again the rest of the season. Maybe not even the next 5 season. (Atleast not against real D-1 competition)

I read some of the crap spewed on their little scout board. It's hilarious. Yes they could be us, but to say they are going to surpass us in basketball???

We have 3 losses.

VCU- We didn't have Geron Johnson, and both Shaq and Joe weren't in the zone yet. Both fouled out with only 19 and 20 minutes played. Replay that game now and it's probably a different outcome.

Minnesota- Geron Johnson's first game, Joe was still out of sync only playing 7 minutes and Tarik Black fouled out only playing 16 minutes. Once again I say if we play that game today it's a different story.

Louisville- We beat them at everything but shooting freethrows and working the refs.

Yes, we lost those games. However I do believe we have gotten much better. Once we put 2 complete halves together we will be even more special. 40 minutes of intense/ will to win basketball and we roll USM no matter the location or how many times we play them. Period.

We should assume every team we play is better and its our goal to prove that's true.

I have to much pride and common sense to ever assume or make myself believe that. Sorry...
