The OC for the Texas State game resigned immediately after and in almost every other game that season, we scored at least 35 points. You guys have never played an offensive juggernaut before. If SEC and B1G teams, who are known for hard nosed defenses, have trouble stopping our passing attack. What makes you think UTSA will be able to?
Teams that tried to use the Texas State disaster against us:
1st it was Rice- Blown away 35-14
then UNT- got blown away when we dropped 44 on them
and finally UAB- Got destroyed when we dropped 39
After the UAB game, people stopped bringing up Texas State.
I'll still bring it up. You guys got beat by Texas freaking St. You claiming that playing anyone is beneath you is just hilarious.
I never said anything about us stopping your offense. But you haven't brought up your defense in any of your posts. It's awful, and still will be next season. We're not getting stomped by you guys. We may lose, but we are scoring points on that crap defense you guys have.

RE: 2013 UTSA Schedule
My only comment is this. Most "experts" predicted UTSA to be the worst team in the country and win about 2 or 3 games at most. They ended up winning 8. No predictions, but I bet they surprise some people again.

Did people start bringing up the TxSt game after SMU dropped a 72 burger on your asses?

*Yawn* Rice made a bowl game that nobody watched. Don't worry, be patient and we'll give you your annual ass-whooping in a few months. Of course, we'll take care of you on the hardwood first.

LOL
That didn't take long. And by the way, we had one of the highest rated bowl games. Try again.
Quote:In other college football bowl news, the Air Force/Rice Armed Forces Bowl drew 3.3 million viewers on ESPN last Saturday, up 61% from BYU/Tulsa last year (2.0M), up 72% from Army/SMU in 2010 (1.9M), and the most-viewed edition of the game since at least 2007 (viewership prior to 2008 was not available).
Bowl TV Ratings
As for the hardwood, yeah you probably have us there. Better not lose.
And as for football...what can I say, you guys beat us. Lucky for you that you caught us early. But I'm looking forward to us repaying you guys in the fall.

I would venture to guess that Cougar Paws is a troll. 99.9% of the UH fan base has gone utterly pessimistic, at least until John O'Korn signs on the dotted line.

Yeah, but at least he is entertaining...and a bit more level headed than it would appear.
I know that this is a UTSA thread so I will try to refrain from derailing the thread further, but congratulations on keeping O'Korn. I think that he will be great for UH.

He is. He spends half his time reading every post on the Rice board and then bashing Rice whenever someone mentions Houston or at other random times. He does a disservice to the many good, respectful UH fans I've interacted with. I wouldn't worry about his thoughts on UTSA, although I believe he is right about the outcome of the UH-UTSA game.
I went to the Rice/UTSA game and although UTSA blew some early chances, it was clear to me that Rice had a significant size/athleticism advantage (I've seen it plenty with Rice on the short end of that stick). It will take some time for them to get to a consistent level, but I expect them to not be last in c-usa. They will build to a d1 level quickly, but remains to be seen if they can build beyond that to a truly good program.

I think we'll make a better showing of it at the Dome against you guys. We definitely blew a few chances in the first half. Can't wait for that one. Defintely will be circled on my calendar when the date is announced.

UTSA is the little sisters of the poor right now. The teams that we play in conference will be at our level or above. It's wrong to disrespect established programs like Rice (who gave us a pretty good whipping last year).
I disagree with the idea that getting our teeth kicked in on TV is a good thing for the program.
I'm very worried UTSA will get banged up and worn out in those OOC games and it will ruin the season.
I'd rather UTSA played competitive games than walk into sure blowouts.

I thought both teams blew chances to score in the first half. I recall Taylor M overthrowing a wide open Donte Moore.

This is the way that I'll be for or against ootsa. I'm rooting for you to win in this games, all OOC and against Tulane. Mostly because your fans have come on pretty strong and shown very little class to say that you're all that. You're the new ecu in cusa, too much bragging and not enough show. Humility is a 4 letter word for your fans.

You guys don't run our offense first of all and second, we have a new staff. Our OC has been promoted to Asst HC and our new OC is from Ok State. 1 of only 2 offenses faster than ours. (And we all know who the other is)
