Not one player out there appears to be giving anything less than his best, and they are going through a rough stretch right now. This team needs fan support now more than ever, and it sure doesn't appear you are giving them that.

If you know so much about the game, why don't you take up a career in coaching. Clearly, Haase doesn't have a clue what he is doing, right?

No, they're not. In the second half Saturday night the team was not giving its best effort. A few players were but several were not. Even Southern Miss fans at the game noticed how little spirit UAB displayed. According to one, we looked "resigned to defeat" and I agree. Hasn't been that way the entire season but this last stretch of games I haven't seen much fight in this team.

I'd love to see you go tell them that to their face.

If I see that kind of lazy effort tomorrow night, believe me they'll be hearing it. Got my diploma, got my life-long season tickets, got my Blazer Club parking pass. I'll call bullsh*t if I see it and I saw plenty in Hattiesburg.

I swear, why did Mackin even go after Haase. We have players slapping hands after FT's, long shorts, people leaning over because they are tired, and no effort. We here at Blazertalk have found all the flaws in this team. I bet if we just hired an all Blazertalk we would be undefeated at a fraction of the cost.

I still think Haase was a good hire. I'm not pointing the finger at him at all. Just the opposite actually. It's going to take him at least another season to not just improve the physical talent level on the team but also return to a winning mentality.

This team should have better leadership from returning upperclassmen. It shouldn't be newcomers trying to carry the team.

I don't blame Haase for anything yet either, but if this continues he will start to draw my ire a la the late, great, Mike Davis. I don't want to pull out my old moniker in a reincarnated form. Don't make me do it Haase!

But in all honesty, I think this team is better than the last few games have shown and I'm just getting frustrated by losing so much. You want to end the season on a bang and build momentum for next season.

RE: UAB womens basketball team is 12-4
I'm glad others have noticed how tired, resigned, and lack of energy they look. They are not even close to playing up to their potential. Coach Bartow used to get on to his players for not practicing and/or playing games with near enough energy and he almost always suspected that players do not get enough rest(actual sleep), burning the candle on both ends. He was right. A lot of the time, players would actually stay up way too late at night, being scholarship student and scholarship basketball players by day and Casanovas in the night, even the best of them, and it did wear them down. Lack of proper rest actually does contribute to physical and mental fatigue. While I am being critical, I will just toss this one in, straight and direct. Preston needs to shave. He would be a lot more handsome and persentable. Finally, Jordan needs a haircut. He looks like Shaggy on Scooby Doo. He would be a lot more handsome and presentable, too.

P. S. I am not afraid to tell players anything I have posted, to their face. I have told players at practices in years past the same. Poor shot selection, not taking care of the ball well enough, which results in bad passing and fumbles, lack of rest, energy, grabbing their shorts, high fiving too much, and even shaving and haircuts, and, never once, did any of them take my constructive criticism out of context. You guys are the ones who seem to do that.

This is a parody, right?

They need to stop listening to that rock and roll music too.

Maybe they are refusing to shave and get hair cuts until the team:
a) tries harder
b) takes better shots
c) stops high fiving each other
d) dribbles better
e) doesn't turn the ball over, ever
f) scores more than the other team
g) stops bending over when fatigued
h) stops listening to that damn rock and roll

Did I miss anything?

Yes. Stop being Casanovas at night and be in bed by 8:30

I agree. They probably shouldn't talk to each other while they're at it. And anybody who misses a shot should be promptly punched in the face before running back to get on defense.

now thats just stupid. they should be kicked in the balls then kneed in the face after they double over in pain

I just saw a player for #14 Ohio State miss a free throw...and his teammates "slapped him some skin."
Idiots...those morons would be top 10 if they didn't do such stupid stuff. It pisses me off

& still we won't turn in large numbers to see them play, & they're winning...Go figure...12-4, 3-0 in the conference and they're carrying the same banner, they're Blazers, too. It's still early in conference play, but for UAB's women to have accomplished what they have thus far without at least a couple thousand in the arena to watch them play...speaks for itself...I have a feeling if they can keep this up, they're going 02-13-banana in the NCAA's.

I will play my part and continue to show up and support our Women's basketball team.

+1

It's not like the tickets are expensive either: just $5 a ticket, $35 for season tickets, or free with your gold card from a $250 or more contribution to the Blazer Club.

My original insinuation of this thread was that as poorly as the mens team has been shooting the ball, turning the ball over so much and running out of steam, the women could probably hold their own in a scrimmage against the mens team.

This thread may be the first time a thread started as a derail and ended up on topic

And that is even dumber than you comment about ASW starting.(which I did not think was possible)

But that would get them laid more often and degrade their play. And Swing attracting more tail would create dangerous crowding problems. The fire marshal has probably asked him to keep the hair shaggy.

03-lmfao I don't know about that, but from my observation, they're style of play is similar at both ends where tempo and game speed is concerned, our women's team is very entertaining and fun to watch play the game of basketball.
