According to a source within Miami, Michelle Obama had two requests for the parade: Have my family somewhere warm, and get Miami's band to the parade (they played when she spoke there the Saturday before the election). And not that I want this turn remotely into a political thread, but it might also be a very subtle jab at Paul Ryan as well.

Those photos are in front of the FBI building on Pennsylvania Ave.

I watched a chunk of the parade on television. It was a nice day (at least by Midwest weather standards) for a parade. In the afternoon the sun came out and temps were in the 40s.

A little FWIW:

Those photos are in front of the FBI building on Pennsylvania Ave.

I watched a chunk of the parade on television. It was a nice day (at least by Midwest weather standards) for a parade. In the afternoon the sun came out and temps were in the 40s.

The police officers visible in the pictures securing the line were from San Antonio, TX. They had been on post since 5:00 am, and were a whole lot colder than this Buffalo boy.

Nice for Miami but been there, done that. the Marching 110 was in President Clinton's 1992 inaugural parade.

Good for Miami but I think a band from Toledo was at Garfield's inauguration so this isn't really much of an honor.

Actually, I've always thought that Miami's band does quite well with what they play.

If i was a troll i would congratulate Miami on doing something I do not believe one particular MAC members band has ever done. I could be completely off there, just a guess.

However, since I am not a troll I will just say congratulations to Miami and I wish their alumnus was vice president right now.
