Wouldn't know as I don't visit that board. I read enough of their ridiculous opinions they try to present as facts on this board. I couldn't even imagine the level of stupidity if I were to dive into the madness over there.

Typical conversation between a CUSA fan and a Aresco Conference lover:

CUSA: Well here you have this fact this fact and this fact.
Aresco: Oh yea? Opinion, opinion, opinion, and don't forget opinion.
CUSA: You're basing that on what? I read fact, fact, fact. Plus fact, fact and even fact.
Aresco: Yea well guess what? Opinion, opinion, and we had a Times Square Banner.

But there are also those fans of programs in both situations that can have rational conversations without having to offend the other. It's only when the folks that can't have rational conversation around the subject get involved that it gets out of hand.

That's how much of the firestorms start.....

1) rational conversation starts through 3 or 4 posts
2) one of a few well known snipers from one side or the other fires a shot
3) conversation becomes more intense with the normal inflammatory rhetoric no matter what the subject
4) chaos

That's funny...I don't see much talk about TV contracts on the BE board. I think someone started a BS thread.

IIRC, there is one thread. But I see OP trolling through on many more threads on that board.

Not everyone! Or maybe it's just that I am not a clown. Not that I am looking for any pats on the back but I have stood up for C-USA programs and C-USA as a whole over there several times. Of course I still post here at least as often as over there. Just like this board better, even despite the crap spewed between some ECU posters and some others.

I will never join into the market BS talk. Of course I'm an ECU fan so it's easy for me to say that but I'd like to think I wouldn't even if I lived in (or ECU was in) a huge market. If people feel that their team needs more money than others to be better that's too bad for them. Of course on the flip side there are the true have who have massive amounts of money and everyone is trying to nibble at that difference.

In the end look at a program like Southern Miss. They don't have the most money but they have been damn good in the 3 major men's sports. As for people who say that's good for them but they don't do any good as conference mates, that is foolishness. USM has been an awesome conference mate for ECU. Any game in D-F with USM involved just has a different feel.

Anyway, I'll stop here but I agree, I have had enough talk about markets and tv contracts to last a lifetime. New visitors who make it to that board have to wonder if they made a wrong turn while looking for a sports message board and wandered into a television/marketing board.

Gotta agree. I've said repeatedly I'd love to have USM, Tulsa and Marshall in whatever the nBE becomes. It won't seem right, not continuing to play those schools down the road. Some of us haven't forgotten where we came from and how some of those schools fought to get us into conference in spite of the Cards. I've always pulled for CUSA and will most likely continue to do so until somebody runs me off.

I'm mainly venting at a few people and one idiotic temple fan.

I laugh at Temple...The only program to be kicked out of a BCS conference. They also showed just how crappy they were last year when they went from playing Ball State CMU and EMU to playing Rutgers, Cincy and Louisville. I think they become a 1-2 win team again real soon, year in and year out.
I got into it with one of their fans about 6 months ago. Apparently Temple is a world-renowned institution and USM is just a nice regional college. Both were news to me.

It was always about football and who had the best program.

No one cared about tv money and then it all went away when Aggie went to the sec.

Maybe since Tulsa has been in it (and most bball powers left), but originally this league was ALL ABOUT basketball. Football was an after-thought.

I don't agree that football was an afterthought, but I'm not getting into a long wrestling match of words about it. I can see how a fan of a program that was initially invited for basketball/spring sports could see it that way.

I can't wait to start playing UConn, Cincy, Temple, Navy and so on...it's going to be fun.

Tulsa has a fantastic athletics department, and any conference who wants a school run with integrity would be blessed to have them.

Yeah, I'm not seeing what's so undesirable about that lineup (in any sport).

It's probably easier to beat Temple or Navy than LA Tech, and you get more credit from casual fans (referring mostly to football here)

Next year is gonna be awesome in good ole CUSA.

Tech is gonna be solid, Rice is gonna be solid, Marshall is going to be really good (if they can play defense), ECU will be average to above average ; ), Tulane will suck and hopefully USM is a bowl team. The new guys will be the new guys.

Who cares about how they are on the field, like that even matters. The question is what kind of markets will be up for grabs next year. I hear if USM can have a decent season we will be in contention for that coveted purvis market.

The lat time I was in Natchez I saw a few USM bumper stickers.

So throw in the Adams Country TV market for USM.
