Stuff like that. Grass isn't always greener on the other side.

And there are no concerns with Carey? C'mon. I am a Carey fan because he is our head Coach. But that doesn't mean I agreed with the hire. It reminds me of the Bill Stewart hire at West Virginia.

I believe 3 years from now, willing to admit it or not, we will wish PJ Fleck was our Head Coach. I believe his future in the business will brighter than that of Carey. Just my opinion. I'm sure people will light me up on this, but again, just my opinion. And BTW- PJ's ability to assemble a staff questions should have been answered. His staff is very impressive with NFL experience, Detroit ties, Illinois ties and guys with experience in areas he doesn't have much. I think Fleck's grass is pretty green actually.

I was just raising some counterpoints. I'm not blind to concerns on Carey, and have occasionally thought the same as you on Fleck. If the recruits Carey gets are strong, that will go a long way to reducing my Carey concerns. Carey's much less charismatic then Fleck; and Rod, do something with your hair, just give it up and go clean shaven, that'll make you look leaner and meaner to the 18 year old brains your after!

For God's sake, we better beat WMU in Fleck's 1st year or this board will go nuts on this topic again!

At WMU I can tell you that we are worried about your first and last points. He has assembled a staff, created a ton of enthusiasm, and has been vocal and visible in his support for the other sports teams at WMU.

Can he deliver? Nobody knows for sure. We'll find out soon enough. I panned the hire at first, but he appears to know his weaknesses (experience) and has surrounded himself with some good folks. Now I'm cautiously optimistic.

You will love PJ. You will have no choice. Your wives/girlfriends will beat the crap out of you if you don't idolize him. And, if you are gay....well, let's just say you are probably in your own fantasy world with PJ already. The only time WMU fans will be relieved of this stupor is when PJ leaves for greener pastures after spreading his seed on WMU and the MAC. Until then, enjoy the lovefest!

Dave Doreon turned out to be a great coach but what if the current or former QB gets hurt and you guys struggled and lost a handful of games, he might still be at NIU. I know the entire body of work is important but Doreon had two great QB's that made the team win and make him look real good. Everything lined up perfect for NIU, which is great! I have to say his timing to be at NIU was perfect! Looking back is easier then looking forward isnt it.

We were extremely happy Jiff Comphers hired Doreon.

And if my Aunt had...

I always wondered how Toledo would've done the last 2 years with Dantin at QB the entire time. I just never thought Owens was that good. He never really showed up against NIU.

He didn't really play against us in 2011. He was really bad against us this past season though.

I know. It was funny, he had 2 drives in that game, which netted about 3 yards. Meanwhile, Dantin was unstoppable that game.

+1. In my opinion, Dantin is much better. I love seeing Owens on the field.
