With all the talk of past players and our excitement about the future, I just wanted to point out that 2006 was the last ETSU Athletics Hall of Fame induction. Does the former AD have this line on his resume? "failed to present the Hall of Fame for over half my tenue in office"

It is beyond comprehension to me that a University Athletics Department would go this long without doing a Hall of Fame induction. SEVEN YEARS??

I do know the last time nominations were solicited, the five Traywick brothers were nominated for football. The induction never happened, nobody knew why.

So here are my nominees when the time comes:

The Five Trawicks (all Football, from the late 60s to 1985/6)
Mike Smith
Mister Jennings, he's graduated now so we can finally get him in
Donnie Abraham
Jerald and Zakee (they MUST go in as a package deal)
Ethan Hawkins (track)
Chad Boruff (Baseball)

We may need to have a bigger class and a bigger room this time since it's been SEVEN YEARS!

Mister Jennings and Donnie Abraham would be good picks. The Trawicks as I remember weren't HOF worthy. Jerald and Zakee haven't been gone long enough. Chad Boruff not memorable and I know nothing about Ethan Hawkins.

Is there a length of time they have to wait before being eligible like the pro sports halls of fame?

Regardless, Jennings, Talford, B.J. Adigun and Brandon Walker all need to go in. Mike Football Smith should go in as well.

Calvin talford belongs on that list before wadood and fields.

Unless it's changed, an inductee must be a graduate which is why several key Bucs from the past have not been inducted. I don't agree with that, but it's not uncommon for a school to have that criteria.

The "time passed" used to be 5 years, not sure if there's a requirment for being "retired" from your sport.

The Trawick's were nominated due to the unique scenario of having five brother's play in succession at the school over three decades. It's not common in college football and I'll assume the person who had the idea to do the nomination saw that as a reason to have them inducted as a group. Pretty darn dedicated group of men to the campus then and now.
