That's not true...the MWC sold their soul to get BSU back.

and the nBE will sell their soul to ESPN.

The BE is done with ESPN...the contract will be multi-network according to media reports.

QVC and HSN?

If the price is right...why not...I get both in HD so I'm cool with it.

Temple and USF are schools that will be fun to play.

Who knows what happens. I think Hair tries to pull a power move with Tulsa and UTEP at the 11th hour.

$10 million in exit and entrance fees, and at the end if the day you are in the same conference with a different name. there is something fundamentally wrong and spectacularly stupid about that.

No sir. Those schools have moved up. They get to play Temple and USF now.

Cincy, UConn, Temple, Memphis, UCF, USF, Houston, Navy, etc > MTSU, UTSA, FIU, FAU, UNT, ODU, UNC-C, UAB, etc.

It's not even close...

CUSA 3.0 will be fine. Plenty of good football programs that will excel in the new league.

nBE homers needs to step back and realize that
UCF was a MAC school 7 years ago.
Memphis is a doormat football program
Temple was a MAC school 1 year ago. Dropped football entirely at one point.
USF and UCONN have been playing football for under a decade.

Regarding the end of the day, yes, you are right in that regard.

Hindsight being what it is, it's too bad CUSA 2.0 couldn't have simply added uconn and Cincinnati and been the 6th best conference in NCAA.

Memphis just went 4-4 in CUSA...after going to 5 bowls in 6 seasons...that said we're a hoops school and you may just be the worst Tulsa fan around from your posts...we'll take Tulsa as long as you stay in CUSA.

Same with 2003...had UL, UC, USF, Marquette, etc said no to the BE CUSA would look damn good right now.

BINGO! we have a winner.

The number will be the number whenever the deal is done and there will be posters on both sides that say "I told you so" with individual spins on the situation. Such is the life of message boards, especially when the membership has changed so much since the estimates started. I don't have a clue of those 3.5-4.5 is realistic or not.

I'm not sure if 3.5-4.5 million wast enough to keep Boise enrolled or not, but it's not enough to keep UConn/UC as members if they can get other options, which may be tough to come by in the short term. In the long term, those programs will be gone to greener pastures unless at some point those numbers become much, much larger, which isn't going to happen without major changes.

UConn/UC fans complain about now playing is CUSA while the Tulsa writer mentions the Sunbelt. Seems like it would have been a lot simpler to merely change the names of the conferences and somehow coerce the networks to negotiate new contracts with the "new" conferences.....just kidding, but it's close to reality.

I agree with OldTiger, we are going to pay a lot of money just to keep playing the same teams again. Would've been easier just to change the names of the conferences !

Yes but those schools actually moved up. It was worth the expense. That is not what is happening now.

Memphis hasn't been to a bowl since 2008. You make it sound like they have been good recently.

Memphis has a few 6-6 seasons in the early part of the 2000s and they are a football powerhouse.

UTEP won a national championship one out of one years!

Does that statement play?

How long will the so called Big East have a name? They could lose their name and have to call themselves the Orphan's Conference or something. If Tulsa wants to go I say fine, but I really don't see it as being worth the money and effort.

We won't lose the BE name unless we decide to sell it to them...they are leaving the BE...not the other way around.

Again, c7 is leaving the BE and not BE leaving c7; therefore, BE name should stay with remaining teams of BE. Also most folks have no idea who are the c7!

Assuming the media reports are correct (and who knows unless someone leaked the docs to them), the C7 departure was under an agreement the league created that permitted a departure of all football or all non-football without penalty and required that the league's assets be divided between the two groups.

The C7 has 7 claims on the assets and UConn/Cincy/USF three claims. So C7 owns a 70% claim on the assets. The name and logos are assets.

If they want them, most likely they trade part of their 70% claim on departure fees to avoid forcing an auction.

I seem to remember going 9-4 and 8-4 the next season...we went 6-6 in 2007 and 2008...that doesn't seem that long ago...maybe I'm just getting old.

I really like Fuente...4-4 in CUSA...3 straight wins to end the season...Justin Fuente and Darrell Dickey have Memphis heading in the right direction.

That said...we are CUSA basketball...that's why we were taken.

We dont know what the documents say, but it may be a 50/50 split between football and basketball.
