Stop it with the ref crap. We are getting fouls called on us because we are late on defense and getting killed on the boards.

Exactly. This is what it looks like when one team is playing with about half the energy and effort of the opposition.

Good luck with that. Haase wouldn't call one if the building was on fire.

Southern Miss defense is looking like a Mike Anderson defense. If they could hit under the basket, they would lead by 40

RE: UAB @ USM Thread
how does ASW possibly get so many fouls while accomplishing so little?

Frasor: "You know, Scottie doesn't play a lot of minutes, but when he gets in there, you notice him."

"Whether its a turnover or a foul, he gets noticed"

Just like in the Memphis game, a horrible drought and run by the opponent takes us out of the game.

That series where USM players are tackling UAB players is what I have been griping about concerning the refs. I understand that USM plays aggressive defense, but taking guys legs out from under them is NOT a part of the game.

I'm shocked that this loss was only 15. Looks like we are gonna wind up around 14-17. 03-puke

Crappy effort, coaches and players. Kudos to the fans that made the trip. There was more effort displayed by the fans that made the trip than what was shown on the court. UAB fans may not be great in number but they deserve better than what they have gotten in the two major sports lately.

Honestly, this is one of the laziest UAB teams Ive ever seen play. In every phase they look like they are wearing cement shoes. Passing is particularly half ass, and the effort to catch it is just as bad. Last weekend against Memphis it was horrible; tonight was even worse.

You should have seen it in person. That said help is on the way. Next year. Thank you Mike Davis.

Always next year. Always the previous regime's fault. Meh. And that's not even a reflection on the current coaches, just seems like we're stuck.

Fault is not the thing to seek. As I pointed out earlier though, all first year coaches in ANY sport are playing primarily with the players who got the last coach fired. A school can fire a whole staff at once and can hire a staff all at once, but no school can fire a whole team and bring in a new one. Both McGee and Haase will have to gradually phase in new players as they build a new team over years.

They will keep those who can play the new style and blend them with the new guys who we hope get into school next fall. 5 new BB players and about 25 new FB players who we hope will do better in 2013-2014 as we move into a new era.
