:
SLU 41 Wichita State 19
SLU 17 Butler 11. I was there Thursday night, and SLU thoroughly dominated Butler. I thought SLU would win, but that performance was most impressive. Anyone could see that SLU has the better team.
SLU 8 St. John's 3
SLU 2 Georgetown 0 (albeit the last meeting was in 1948)
SLU 2 Villanova 0
SLU 2 Seton Hall 0
Whatever happens, do NOT look up the team that beat you by 3 points in the 1961 NIT Finals at MSG. I repeat, do NOT find out who beat you! You may not like what you see!

Wichita State would have been between 1945 and 1974. SLU and Butler were in the MCC together from '81-'91, but the most recent game was a week ago. The most recent game against Villanova was last year. Not sure about the rest.

I wondered why he neglected us, I figured it was because we play in the "misery valley."

In fact, I would love to find a website that shows head to head history. Does anyone have a link?

Flight time is probably an extra hour from Saint Louis to Omaha so are you arguing that an extra hour of flight time will exclude Creighton, but make SLU more attractive?
There are scores more non-stop flights into/out of STL as compared to Omaha...so even if the cost is the same....the time saved by flying non-stop (most Olympic sports teams have to fly commercial) to STL vs connecting to Omaha or waiting around longer for one of the more scarce non-stop flights would be a considerable difference.
STL has approx 3 times the number of daily departures as Omaha has...and STL serves dozens of more cities non-stop vs what Omaha can offer up.
While Omaha is a good size city and has a nice airport...it can't match up with STL....not even close.

I agree that Saint Louis airport is larger but Omaha does offer a decent amount of non-stop flights to BE7+ cities (Washington D.C, Cincinnati, Chicago, Milwaukee, Newark NJ, St. Louis). Like others have said in other threads, the BE7 already travels to places as far as Florida and if you want to be a "big boy" conference, traveling to Omaha shouldn't be an issue. The Big Ten takes all their teams to Lincoln Nebraska which is a flight to Omaha and then a 1 hour bus ride to Lincoln. Creighton's campus is 10 minutes from the airport.

Creighton is a strong program and I think the C7 would be fortunate to have them as a member. But the C7 is going to be an elite non-football conference with or without Creighton.

Interesting. I would've guessed they took a private charter (at least for football and MBB) directly to Lincoln.
