I doubt they would wait on the C-7, but just my guess. They just don't seem to have much patience with anything.

I think they have already stated their plan. First get the TV deal negotiated. Then negotiate the split with the C-7. Then deal with finding a #12. The nBE doesnt really need #12 until 2015 when Navy joins, so there is no huge hurry.

So they want to get the deal before Tulsa is in the fold? I thought they'd want to do it the other way around, showing the networks, this is us, how much do we get?

Certainly seems to make sense to add teams that might help them get an even better deal.

I am sure the Big East teams that are in the conference do not want another team added who make take their last auto-bid.

WAC looking like they'll steal UMKC. Foresight by UMKC w/ MVC and Horizon looking to raid the Summit after the C7/A10 dominoes. Maybe Denver does a BSU and turns around comes back to the WAC.

Any thought on going to 16 and grabbing old WAC schools UTEP, Rice, Louisiana Tech, plus Southern Miss from Conference USA?

West: Hawaii, SDSU, SJSU, Fresno, UNLV, Nevada, Utah St., Boise St.

East: Wyoming, Col St., Air Force, New Mexico, UTEP, Rice, LTU, USM

RE: More expansion?
Why would they expand further and reduce their football playoff payments per member even further... each Gang of Five conference gets only $12-million no matter how many football members.

Only way we add more is if BYU wants back for all sports and we bring UTEP in as 14, otherwise I don't see how we could get a bigger per school pay out.

That might get you a bigger media payout, but that will NOT change the playoff payout - that was already determined at $12-million per Go5 league no matter the amount of members... so the more members you have, the smaller the payout per member will be.

Or Idaho or New Mexico actually become good in the Sun Belt.

Interesting, but seems way too speculative for me. Guess we'll know by next week according to the article.

What a shock it will be if it goes down as he wrote...

Bring in UTEP and BYU!
