Very nice! We are years away from a football indoor facility.

Either those drawing were made a while back, or whomever made them didn't pay too much attention to the present Yager - that old turf hasn't been there since Haywood's first season. Also some discontinuity between some photos; the one with Rider Track in the background looks to have some distance between the Hawk's Nest and the facility, while some other concepts have an expanded suite section that appears to directly touch it. Either way though, exciting times hopefully ahead for the Redhawks.

Looks to be 3 different concepts. I really like the one with the suites and bleacher seats but that would obviously take the most amount of money...then you would need to fill it somewhat decently.
I would actually cut out the bleachers at first but leave room for them if the fan base grows more. Really no point in adding cheap seats if your not selling out more than 2 games a year.

Really like the endzone facility/IPF. Definitely a great idea to have seating there. The suites, not so much. I wonder whether donors that shell out big bucks for suites would want to be in the endzone. Definitely not a prime viewing location.
All in all though, a great-looking facility!

Maybe because they don't have a choice? Tell me what percentage of college football stadiums have suites in the endzones. It's VERY small and for good reason.
If you're courting a large donor to pay big bucks for a suite, wouldn't you want to offer them a suite that has the best vantage point to watch a game? Being in either endzone is the worst possible place to watch a game.

RE: New Football Facilities
Sayler mentioned in one of his interviews that he was interested in taking out some seats below the press box to make room for additional suites. Now we have two, one for the AD and one for the president. His plan would bring it up to eight total, and would probably make endzone suites unnecessary. Louis Kitton has spoken about how OU has taken advantage of their diverse group of fans through unique seating, and that would be a wise strategy to pursue in the future.

Honestly I have yet to see a game from the endzone so maybe I should do that first.
Speaking of which I wish that we would open us our Yordon balcony to individual ticket sales when it does not sell out to a group.

A lot of times the suite holders are more worried about wining-and-dining employees/potential clients rather than the game.

The suites at the Glass Bowl are in the West Grandstand, not in the endzone, aren't they?

Doesnt Western Michigan, Old Dominion, maybe BG and even NIU also have suites in their endzone building along with Southern Miss and many others?

WMU and bgSUCKS have, at least some kind, of suites in the endzones.

We have a small balcony that is attached to our endzone facility. This is for up to 60 people who can watch the game from a padded folding chair or inside the upper level of the building. They do have food and drink service.
IMO we do a very poor job of marketing/selling these seats. This money goes directly to our athletic program (not facilities) so I have no idea when they don't put a little more effort into it.

If you haven't been on the Yordon Center balcony, go up there sometime during a practice and try to watch the action at the south end of the field. You're just a few feet above ground level and you have absolutely no depth perception. It's a terrible place to watch a game.
Now, if you want to rent all or half of the balcony just to say you've been there, have at it. I think you'll be shocked at how expensive it is though.

I did that for the spring game this past year. I really liked it since it gave more of a players perspective of the field rather than the typical spectators perspective.
Yes I know its expensive but that is just because they sell in a package where 15 is the smallest group. I would be interested in paying the $67 myself for a Tuesday night game when I don't have the kids.

Why would NIU put suites in their endzone when everyone knows a new press box is going to be the next football project anyways?
EDIT: Whoops, you're talking about Miami. Nevermind.

It looks great, will definitely make the stadium appear more big time.
Ohio's building its IPF unattached but near the football stadium. Its going to look kind of funky but that is what they want to do.

Seems pretty normal to have the IPF unattached. The Patriots Indoor Practice Facility is the Dana Farber Field House. It's in the lower left of the picture across from VIP parking lot 22 and just after Lot 10.
