For his sake, I think he just uses the highest RPI team as the auto bid.

Edit:

Yup...*Autobid awarded to current league leader or highest computer rating in case of a tie

If we do not win CUSA and get an 11 seed, I would be okay with that.

Yep. Seems this has to be explained every time someone posts an early season Lunardi bracket. Maybe we can make it a requirement that you put this in the post if making a Lunardi Bracketology post. 03-banghead

Crazy. Miami a 6 seed, w/ losses to Florida Gulf Coast and Indiana State (with players out) and no wins over top 50 teams.

Ok, Joe. Ok.

Joe has been notoriously doubtful of Memphis' performance these past two seasons.

Ok, Joe. Ok.

Except for Michigan State.
And on the road vs. UNC.
And Lasalle.

And a current RPI of 5.

Just sayin'.

If I could skip the playin game, that would be a nice draw.

We lose 3 more and we will be no worse than about a 9 or 10 seed. Win out and we will be about a 4 or 5 seed.

RPI projections for Memphis:

28-3 13.3
27-4 17.7
26-5 22.6
25-6 29.1
24-7 36.4
23-8 44.0
22-9 52.4

Ah, forgot about Michigan State.

Lasalle (#63 kenpom) is no top 50 team, nor is UNC (#51 kenpom), unfortunately for the Canes.

Lose three more and Memphis is a bubble team if one of those three is in the CUSA tourney.

You can keep posting RPI numbers all you want.

Just look at last year. RPI of 16 got Memphis an 8 seed, even though Memphis was double conference champ and had won 11 of 12 to end the season.

Was going by RPI.

The home loss to UTEP was considered by the selection committee to be a bad loss. Before that, our saving grace was no bad loss. It had a significant effect on our seeding. Without a bad loss and a top 20 RPI, we would move up.

Exactly why I don't worry about RPI. Followed it all last year and was guessing between a 5 or 6 seed. This year just doing the eyeball and common sense test. Another arguement was "who did you play and who did you beat." Well Kentucky is listed as a 10 seed with no wins over anyone in the field and 2 home losses.

One more time, we win out, we are National Champions. Hard concept, but think real hard about it . . .
