For his sake, I think he just uses the highest RPI team as the auto bid.

Yep. Seems this has to be explained every time someone posts an early season Lunardi bracket. Maybe we can make it a requirement that you put this in the post if making a Lunardi Bracketology post.

The home loss to UTEP was considered by the selection committee to be a bad loss. Before that, our saving grace was no bad loss. It had a significant effect on our seeding. Without a bad loss and a top 20 RPI, we would move up.

Exactly why I don't worry about RPI. Followed it all last year and was guessing between a 5 or 6 seed. This year just doing the eyeball and common sense test. Another arguement was "who did you play and who did you beat." Well Kentucky is listed as a 10 seed with no wins over anyone in the field and 2 home losses.
