I'd say they are decent and the SEC is just bad this year.

This.

The SEC is really down this year. Period.

And Ole Miss has a pretty decent team this year.

This is obviously not the norm for Ole Miss. They are usually a run-of-the-mill program that has a decent team every once in a while.

To say that Ole Miss has passed us is laughable.

Last time we played them they knocked us out of the NIT.

Passed us in basketball ? Really ? They're having one decent year in I don't know how long and they're passing us in hoops ? When's the last time they were in the dance ? How's that attendance looking down in that high school gym they call the tad pad ? How many top 5 recruiting classes have they had lately ? Some of the sh*t I see posted on this board sometime is beyond belief. SMDH.

Kennedy has recruited at least five 4* to Ole Miss the past five years. By your own admission, their venue is a dump and no one goes to games, YET he has that dumpster fire of a program on the brink of a Top 25 ranking and will likely punch a ticket to the dance.

Again, it is akin to Fuente taking Memphis to four straight seasons of 8-5, 7-6, 8-5 and 9-4 without winning the Big East conference? Would that be an accomplishment?

You think that 1 tournament appearance in 5 years is an accomplishment that could be compared to taking the worst football program in the country to 4 straight bowls?

Ole Miss had gone 17-47 (36.2%) in the SEC the four years preceeding Kennedy. He won the West his first year there and essentially has a .500 winning % in conference.

In the last 30 years, Ole Miss has had 12 winning season. 2 by Rob Evans, 4 by Rod Barnes and 6 (soon to be 7) by Kennedy. Memphis has had nine in football in the past 30 years.

He is 7-16 vs. ranked team in the regular season.

In the past 4 years, Kennedy has 2 NIT wins.
In the same time, Pastner has 1 NIT win.

Stop your begging and whining. Haven't you heard the expression, "A blind hog will occasionally find an acorn" or somewhat similar prose. So the bears have a fairly decent team every 4-5 years.Based on your $1 overpriced CA ticket offer, you need us, we don't need you....and after this year, you'll likely be back in your familiar, mediocre rut.

I don't think so, but if it makes u feel any better, what ever. The truth is, we have a good recruiting class coming in. Remember the player from Ms. that u wanted this year? Well he'll be in red and blue next year. Plus most of the team will be back next year. And to think we need u and u don't need us is laughable. We don't need yall for ANYTHING. But do and say what ever makes u feel better about your team.03-shhhh

Oh, you and your fairweather fan base are so cute.

#1. Dwight Coleby was a backup option. We went ahead and signed a 5 star power forward instead.

#2. You do not have a good recruiting class coming in. You have 3 unranked 3 stars. Memphis has a 5 star and 3 (or 4) four stars coming in - all top 100 players. That's a good class.

#3. You all agreed to play us in football again because you need the basketball series with us.

Go back to the street and get on the bandwagon before it takes off, but don't worry it will be empty again next year with your departing seniors and pathetic recruiting class coming in.

EDIT:

Oh and

#4. Most of your team will be back?! 3 of the 5 starters will be gone who are averaging 46 points combined. You all are coasting by in a weak SEC with a team of seniors. You'll be right back to mediocrity next year.

Lulz. Yeah, Pastner is really kicking himself over Dwight Coleby. I guess he'll just have to make do with Austin Nichols.

I hate to break this news to yall but yall's two key players....Buckner and Holloway will not be returning to yall next year. To quote a statment in Lindy's Sports College Basketall, p. 155, " 6"....the NCAA Tournament appearances for Ole Miss in the program's 102 year history. The Rebels are trying to buck a recent trend and a long-standing battle with mediocrity." Now, back to my original statement...yall's temporary departrture from mediocrity is likely just that....temporary. A question, yall infer that we needs yall. Would yall explain how our BB program need yall. Don't switch subjects....just reference BB....yall.

Have you compared the Memphis and Ole Miss 2013 recruiting classes?

Memphis stands at #3 nationally. And, honestly, I can't figure out why Kansas moved ahead of us to #2 except, well, they're Kansas.

Hey, if Ole Miss doesn't need Memphis, then why do you want to play us in basketball?

I remember a time when playing good programs was well thought of, I sure do miss those days.

Maybe Ole Miss is trying to get some good RPI programs to play home and home with them. Considering how difficult Josh claims it to be for us to get home and homes with anyone in the top 150 RPI, I believe they may have a point.

Mississippi's top out of conference games this season are Rutgers, Indiana State and MTSU.

Missouri was a conference game...

Memphis' top out of conference games included the Bahamas tourney...which ended up being VCU, Minnesota and Northern Iowa...Tennessee, Xavier and Louisville.

Glad so many are so pleased that Misipsuiii looks to have a good team this year...remember, under Pastner, Memphis has not beaten a team ranked at the time of the game!!

Currently Memphis' strength of schedule is 76. Courageous Mispsiiis's is 160.

Sure those are the facts, but what is the point?

Memphis' best win right now is the win over Ohio. There are no Top 25 teams left on the schedule and perhaps only one or two at-large worthy teams left.

Miss already has beaten Mizzou (Top 15) and has several more shots left.

That is the excuse Pastner has been using for not scheduling anyone tough non-conference next year, due to the conference being so tough.

Even stronger than mispisis's OOC schedule than I thought.

Slip is showing.

For all those high recruiting classes, where does that leave yall? No votes in either poll that's where. And no victories over ANY top 25 team during Pastner's rein. Seems Pastner doesn't want to play us, uses the recruiting angle as an excuse.

It's quite funny the black bear folks coming here trying to talk smack about bball. It's about as dumb as us trying to talk smack to them about football. This is why them and their fans get no respect and are laughed at. Past er doesn't want to play the black bears bc you offer us nothing. I can promise you he is not worried about recruiting.

I agree, there's no reason yall should be worried about us coming in Memphis and getting a recruit that yall want. It's not gonna happen. And comparing yall BB program to ours is laughable at best. No way we even come close to comparing to u in BB. But, if we were to play right now, I think we win. I know yall think the opposite, and that's the way it should be. We'll see who does best this year, and if we play yall next year, we'll see then also. But yall have to admit, if u are honest that is, that since Pastner took over, u haven't done anything. Now that can't be denied. See yall in the funnies. 02-13-banana
