nBE fans' chocie of expansion candidates.....
UTEP is not well-received.

And I have to tell you, I am relieved. They think some school is getting a golden-ticket. To where? IDK....... That said, the obvious choice would be MWC, but I'd rather stay with UNT, Rice, UAB, OooohTSA, and USM, than the nBE.

Do you all feel the same way? OR would you rather be in the nBE? The media see it as a punch-line.... And I don't care to be assoc with that. But maybe I'm nuts...

I've been saying for years that UTEP needs to get into the MWC. It seems people are finally starting to come around.

I'm surprised that Steve K. on ESPN 600 still wants UTEP to stay in CUSA.

People are coming around because CUSA has been raided.

I tell you what. If SDSU returns to the MWC, I think UTEP is phucked.

That gives them a nice 12 team league, a CCG, and little to no reason to expand.

Damn it!

If SDSU stays in the MWC, the ONLY way UTEP gets into the MWC is if BYU wants to return as well.

I don't see us getting an nBE invite - ever. It is looking scarey right now.

You are correct that people are now in favor of leaving because the CUSA has been raided. However, CUSA did not deliver on what we thought it was going to do for us in the first place despite the raid.

We were told that CUSA would make us a more desirable location for Texas recruits. There is no evidence that this was the case.

In the years since we have been in the conference, our teams have not improved and have probably regressed.

The MWC may not be any better in that respect but at the very least, we will be playing teams in our time zone and former rivals.
