Birmingham paper's take on the game
It isn't a Bartow Memphis team or a Calipari Memphis team, either, but as sure things go, only the Harlem Globetrotters over the Washington Generals remains more predictable than Memphis over UAB.

Enjoyed it, UAB is great program, kind of like our little brother, they just can't quite get over the hump. (Kind of like us) I'll be pulling for them the rest of the season.

You mean the Birmingham paper actually wrote about something other than Bammer football?

The article was great, but I no longer read the comments. There's no point.

"Josh Pastner has a good team, but it isn't a vintage Memphis team. It isn't a Bartow Memphis team or a Calipari Memphis team, either, but as sure things go, only the Harlem Globetrotters over the Washington Generals remains more predictable than Memphis over UAB."

This reads like sour grapes...backhanded compliment.

0-14- man up.

Scarbinski is to UAB what Calkins is to Memphis. No need to man up when he is not a UAB fan. He is a Bama ass kisser

Makes one feel better to try to bring someone down, than to actually give credit where due.

Why try and read anything into it?

I don't think we'd argue this team isn't as dominant as some others. Just because someone points that out doesnt make it an insult.

Good enough to win is all that matters.

Not in my book. Very little tradition and exactly the kind of school I do not want my alma mater associated with. "You are judged by the company you keep." I do think their fans are generally nice folks and I envy them for their medical school.

Why would you take a crap on something Gene Bartow built?

Make that a lower case g, and spell it backwards.

What's it got to do with Gene Bartow? How long has it been since Gene coached there? Quit living in the past. Reminds me of Alabama fans with 30 year removed Bear Bryant or Misssissippi fans and Archie Manning.

GA brought up the past, not me when he said we have very little tradition. And I guess Memphis fans shouldn't celebrate Gene Bartow's accomplishments at Memphis either, since that would be living in the past.
