no, but what fun would this thread be if we all admitted to that? or we could go off of Jonesing's player efficiency rating crap

Because oldtiger is one of my favorite posters, I will forecast that Memphis loses in OT to UTEP for the conference title, instead of regulation

Thanks randaddy, the respect is mutual.

Just from following scores and everyone's comments, I agree that the Miners and Tigers are two of the favorites and the Golden Eagles have to be in the mix. It's going to be an interesting race.

RE: So... who wins the conference?
For the regular season conf title....I think it will be a 4 team race but I think there is a clear top 2:

Top 2
Memphis
USM

Then
UTEP
Tulsa

One advantage for UTEP and Tulsa is that they will only play Memphis & USM once...so if either UTEP or Tulsa can sweep or at least split their games vs Memphis and USM...that might be good enough to win at least a share of the conf title or win it outright.

...throw in Marshall with Kane back as a possible sleeper tourney winner (a stretch I know)

...they way things are shaking early, it will be interesting to see who plays who in the semis barring any early upsets....IMO will determine if CUSA gets more than one selection to the dance

Probably Memphis. I see only 3 games in which Memphis may have trouble (@UTEP, @UCF, @USM)

This was a tidbit on another board and every locker room in CUSA should have this posted somewhere. Not that he carries any more weight than normal, but he says we're all a bunch of chumps and we should go from a one bid conference to a no bid conference........

Quote:• Conference-USA really, really stinks. Don't buy into what Josh Pastner is selling, either. Memphis' best win is against a Tennessee team that's likely headed to the NIT, and the rest of the league has virtually no shot of getting an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament. Marshall was supposed to be the top threat to challenge Memphis, but the Thundering Herd are 7-8 and lost to Ohio University by around 100 points. Forget about a one-bid league; let's make this a no-bid league.
