OT: At what point should networks replace reporters
No secret that the networks add beautiful reporters and cohosts on the NFL shows. But I just saw a report by Leslie Visser, and was weirded out. It was like having someone's grandmother report an NFL team. I hadn't seen her in a while, so I was in shock.

I grew up watching her, and liked her, but at what point does a network say "Hmm, maybe this is not the most appealing tv view for our intended sports audience"? I couldn't stop staring at her dentures wondering when they would pop out, and didn't hear a thing she said.

Just saw the same thing, and was thrown off when they said, "Thanks, Lesley" at the end of her report. Trying to remember her the way she used to look. Shame what TV makes people do to themselves.

This is what I expected to see before I looked up at the TV. (aged a bit of course, but not like she did).

Looking at her eyebrows, looks like she had some surgery that made things worse.

Didn't she have bicycle or running accident where she skidded across asphalt or concrete face first and had to have major reconstructive surgery on her face?

They should work as long as they're able to be capable reporters. I don't mind seeing them age. Shows they're real people. Plus it's good to watch people you grew up watching age as you do. There will always be fresh new talent to come around. Seasoned vets are keepers.

She's got to be 60 by now. Cut the woman some slack. Is she as ditsy and uninformed as some of the 20 year old blonds roaming the sidelines?

Totally agree with Wavebacker. Just assumed she'd had work done in the name of vanity.

Appears oldtiger is correct, if wikipedia is to be believed:

In June 1993, Visser suffered a jogging accident in New York's Central Park in which she broke her hip and skidded face-first across the pavement. She required surgery on her face and hip and in 2006 she required an artificial hip replacement.

I wonder why women complain about inequality in the workplace.

Well, actually, I wish they would replace Lou Holtz. I can't stand listening to him talk...sounds like he has a mouth full of saliva.

Truth. And those Catholics come commercials of his every 30 seconds. Bleh. I hate religious overtone mixing with my sports. I get enough of it with every finger in the air or kneel to pray with a sports play. I can handle that. Tebowisms and commercials put me over the top.

He should never retire. He's good for a laugh.
