Leaving Orange County airport this morning. Started talking to a guy decked out in Utah State gear, ended up being an old linebacker from 6 years ago. Told him I was NIU, he started saying how Utah State could have won that game. I said easy guy, you guys struggled with the 4th place team from the MAC. He then got ****** an said the MAC is not ****, I laughed and said do you know football at all? NIU has won the MAC two years in a row, and who did Utah State loose to last year in the bowl game, OHIO!
I said you either don't know football and did not play, or you did not watch the Orange Bowl. I laughed and said maybe one day you will play the number 1 team in the MAC, maybe.
The kicker, he was flying standby and did not make the plane! Little *****.

Moral of story, if you are appraoched by anyone in a full white and blue college outfit, run the other way. This past year has taught us that, and this further solidifies that.

Guy looked like he was wearing pajamas. utah is a special breed. Most don't drink or have any real vices, so talking smack and being a butthead is acceptable. I hate to be even more of a d-bag, but if felt good walking on the plane in first class, just saying. I should have asked him to show me his matching socks.
Utah State Fans are usually ok, BYU and Utah, OMG!!!!!! BYU especially. I don't trust a school where they don't even serve Coke, but the church that owns BYU owns Coke. Weird? Hell yes.
I cannot wait for the ass kicking NIU is going to put out this coming season. Get pumped kids, it will be another fun ride I think.

I was on the charter when we played Utah St in Saddlers last games as coach and Logan Utah is like a lunar moon landing. Talk about isolated. We had to take a bus back to Salt Lake after the game, which was a night game, and the pilot was an hour late as he got lost trying to find the airport.

I live here for that reason, small, if you know where to go no better place. if you are into the outdoors, fishing, lakes, skiing, no better place. The only downside, and truly the only downside is the local fans. The fans distinguish themselves by flying the car flags for BYU or Utah year around. It goes deeper than college football with the flags, I will let you fill in the gaps there.

Want to see Utah, google Lake Powell, we pay rent there. It will blow you away kids.

I lived in Utah for almost two years, and it is a strange place. If you are Morman, you cheer for BYU, otherwise you cheer for U of U. Utah State is the redheaded step child, much like NIU.

State is finally showing some football success, so their fans may be getting a little carried away, thinking they are the only fans who have a good team. Tell me the fans of any Chicago team do not do the same thing.

Utah has low taxes, and high respect for the 2nd Amendment, unlike the People's Republic of Illinois. That's why many fed up Californians have moved there.
