SHUTOUT! No new Living Baseball HOFers in 2013
Well, I can't say as how I blame the writers.

I'm actually glad they didn't vote Bonds or Clemens in.

I hope that along with Mark "I'm not here to talk about the past" McGwire they never get in, but many think they eventually will.

Next year I look forward to seeing Greg Maddux in, along with Tom Glavine (may have to wait a year or two) and Frank Thomas.

When is Griffey, Jr eligible? Same year as Smoltz?

what about Biggio, Bagwell and Piazza? it's absolutely criminal that they didn't get in. Biggio has 3,000 hits and had amazing longevity. Bagwell was one of the best 1B of the modern era and Piazza is hands down the greatest hitting catcher of all time. And there isn't one hint of PED use amongst them. the writers are sanctimonious d-bags

I think the B's will get in, just not first ballot. Just like Glavine might not be first ballot either, but will get in.

Pizza-man is a bit more complex. There are rumblings and wasn't he like a 29th round draft choice? I liked him as a player, but reports of bad back acne, etc... we'll have to wait and see.

Next year's ballot will be pretty still competition, so it will either be a learge class taken in, or even harder for those that must crawl towards induction over several years.

I understand your affection for Bonds being an SF fan. Still, think he and Rocket should pay the price if they're still keeping Rose and Shoeless Joe out.

firstly, i didn't even mention bonds or mcgwire, so not sure why you brought them up. I'm glad to hear you think the B's deserve it, but are you freakin kidding me with Piazza? There are rumblings? from whom?! and no, he wasnt a 29th rd draft choice, he was much lower. But wtf does that have to do with it? And finally, reports of bad back-acne? To not vote for the greatest hitting catcher of all time because of some rumors of bad back-acne, is beyond contemptible.

This is a sad day for the HOF and BBWAA

Before I respond to this, for what reason(s)?

because three obvious first ballot HOF'ers in Biggio, Bagwell and Piazza, who have never once been accused of any wrongdoing, were not voted in. What's even worse is that there was hardly any uproar about Piazza not getting in. Every baseball writer with a brain in his head, knows that the BBWAA and HOF voting in general need to be overhauled. Frankly, it's embarrassing for the sport. The only player who was elected this season, is a catcher who played so long ago that he didn't use a glove. That's a slap in the face

I've heard that there has been some suspicion that the B's may have been using. Rumblings from a few different sources as I was reading the other day. Obviously not at the level of the others, but many in that time period are going to be looked at with suspicion.

While I don't subscribe to the "they're not 1st ballot HOFers, so I'm not going to vote in year #1" crap (I think if you're good enough to get in, and obviously so, why wait until year 2 or 3 etc.), I didn't expect them to be 1st ballot guys, especially all 3.
